SBK Coffee 新文记咖啡体验馆 - Sunshine Central Outlet *Muslim-friendly — Restaurant in George Town

Tonight decided to try this branch for family dinner. The shop quite spacious and table not overly closed with each other unlike the Relau Golden Triangle 2 branch. Weekday night not crowded we got our table the moment we walked in with their friendly staff. Here’s what we tried tonight :

Traditional Nasi Lemak Rm 12.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Simple style Nasi Lemak with fragrant coconut milk and perfectly cooked rice not mushy. The sambal accompanied with it not too spicy and had just the right kick.

Yuan Yang (Cham) Cold Rm 2.00 ⭐️⭐️ Part of Nasi Lemak set as add on value. The taste of the tea part in this Yuan Yang didn’t stand out so it’s not really well blended.

Penang Asam Laksa with Hot Kopi Rm 19.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The menu stated it’s one of their top seller and I must agree! It is in big portion, the spiciness just right and the soup quite thick as well! For this price I really hope they can throw in 2 pcs of peeled fish meat instead of 2 fishball cut into halves. 😅 Anyway I do enjoyed this dish very much.

Curry Chicken with Rice Rm 18.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Satisfying hearty dish with aromatic spice in thick curry. ✨

Curry Chicken with Roti Canai Rm 18.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Same curry chicken with noticeably frozen ready made roti canai but they made it crispy and hot enough so it is yummy to go with the curry.

Nanyang Double Layered Butter Kaya Toast Set (with Cold Black Coffee with Milk) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We loved the crunchiness of the toast and really nice kaya! ✨

Signature Chicken Loh Bak 3pcs Rm 9.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Normal only. Not really standing out to be signature level of dish.

Shrimp Chili Smoked Duck QQ Noodles Rm 13.90 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The name QQ really means it! The noodle thin and springy it’s really really nice texture when chew in mouth. The smoke duck meat also aromatic and soft enough. The portion just nice for small eater.

Snow Fungus Longan Sweet Soup Rm 6.50 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thick generous ingredients that serve piping hot and not too sweet.

Overall we enjoyed the food here although there’s little room for improvement but we definitely will visit again. The coffee indeed is kaw or on thicker side but it is also more on bitter roasted note end. For 5 pax with side dishes the bill totaled up to Rm 126.25...

Nvr have thought I would need to give such rating but you deserve it. Honestly, I am surprised how bad service it turned out to be. Customer waiting for so long at cashier and there’s not even a single person turn up to attend to us. We have to go look for the person and end up you serve others who just arrived. Not even an apology after we mentioned it to you but just told us off to wait. What more unbelievable is you change the table for us without informing the person who is doing the order at cashier which clearly written the table no. Is enough you make us wait in vain but pls don’t mess with the order too. Perhaps you should learn how other F&B using code for order/payment if you couldn’t have someone to be at cashier all time. Surprisingly your staffs walking around ..yes, busy serving, truly understand.. but didn’t bother to do anything even a simple gesture to call someone and just let the customer standing at the cashier and keep waiting, how “thoughtful”. This is the first time visited this SBK branch in Penang that located at level 2 (opposite PEAK store that is opening soon) in the Sunshine Central Mall during Saturday afternoon.

The Multigrain Fat Spread Sugar Toast set that came with free drink & half boiled egg taste great! For the drink, hot milk coffee is chosen to match with the toast. Here you will be charged service tax of 7%, the lucky thing is being offered 15% discount for dine in during happy hour, wonderful! The toast set cost around RM13.50, with 15% discount(RM2.03) & 7% Servide Tax(RM0.80), the total bill is RM12.25.

Here you need to select the meal to order from the menu provided, fill in the paper with table number provided, go to the front counter to place your order and pay there. Then, just return to your table to wait for your meals and beverages to be delivered to your table by their staff.
