Sri Nibong Cafe — Restaurant in George Town

Amazing that after eating here for decades, I realized I did not put any review yet. One of the best coffee shop in Penang with above average food. Usually packed with people so that is why I deduct stars for Atmosphere.

Food that you can try and consider good for me.

Yong Tau Fu, Chicken Rice, Kuey Teow Thng, Wan Tan Mee, Char Kuey Teow, Western Breakfast, Chee Cheong Fun, Pan Mee, Ban Cheang Kueh, Bao.

As you can see, almost majority of the stalls are nice. The ones I never write as nice, most likely other ppl consider the food pretty good as well.

So that is why I say this place is one of the best because the selection available and the food quality/taste in general is good as well.

The moment I stepped into the cafe, I heard a couple commented the traditional fried you tiao in this cafe is non oily and Ho Chiak! My head turned into the direction where the conversation held and saw the sesame fried you tiao and it grabbed my interest right away. I ordered one red bean paste fried apom and sesame you tiao. The seller told me the oil is freshly pour daily without overnight using natural yeast. The flour and the making is also on the spot. This surprising me as normally the rest of the stalls were using dark oil and with added ingredients in the flour to make it lasting. I took a bite and WOW they were so tasty. This shop is famous in bayan baru area for the ah tee koey teow th'ng. It is a on site cook style (hian chu). I personally find the taste are of average, nothing special. But this still does not explain the stall still have flocks of customer day in day out. Be prepared to wait in long que if you want to try out. Price wise, it is at high side as basic small bowl cost RM5.00, excluding adding of eggs or other ingredients.
