My comments are restricted to the CNY Reunion dinners. During CNY fiasco 2019 at this restaurant, the staff was swamped by the huge number of customers waiting to come into the building while the earlier crowd had not left the restaurant as yet. Management failed to gap the end of Dinner round one with the start of Dinner round two causing huge congestion outside the restaurant. Tsk tsk tsk. There were many angry faces that evening precipitated by poor crowd management. Lesson here is to avoid Chinese restaurants during CNY. Pay premium prices for generic food. Bad bargain.
Went back for CNY Reunion dinner 2020 on 24/1/2020. Standard of food has declined markedly for RM 877 per table. Long wait for our food once again. Steamed fish was not fresh n overcooked. Customers were so many the employees could not provide proper table service. Customers left standing 15-20 minutes for their tables to be cleaned up while waiters were at sixes n sevens rushing around so much so that we had to serve ourselves! Tables placed too close together to maximise space. We will not return next year. Management should take note. Profit making should not be at the expense of your reputation. Food: 5/10 Service: 2/10 Ambience:...
Read moreIt's new year week so I have a feeling the restaurant is buckling under the load. However if you are looking for an affordable place to eat a good cooking Chinese style dishes with rice then this is the place.
The dishes I fully recommend are the curry rib with mantou. Superb balance of spice and taste. The prawn ball has a crunchy skin and nice filling. The oyster noodle is special and warrants a try.
The other dishes are quite standard and you won't find much to complain about. Except for the mixed vegetable. It was served a little under cooked and has the residual green smell and taste.
Price wise is superb. Even during the cny week, it is incredibly affordable.
Seating however you need to tolerate the cramped table placements while parking can also be a challenge if...
Read moreI recently dined at Goh Teo Kee and had an overall decent experience. The food was satisfactory, with some dishes standing out more than others. However, what left something to be desired was the service. While the staff were friendly, there seemed to be some gaps in attention and efficiency. I believe that with some improvement in the level of service, the restaurant has the potential to truly shine. By enhancing their service standards, Goh Teo Kee could elevate the overall dining experience and ensure that customers leave not just with a full belly, but with a smile of satisfaction. I look forward to seeing how the restaurant evolves and improves...
