The location is ideal when one is heading to the Penang International airport to do a stopover lunch or dinner before taking the flight, it is approximately less than 10 minutes drive to the drop off area at the Departure Hall. On the day I was there for lunch, it was a decent crowd inside the restaurant, this may signify good food!! Usual, staff checking whether one is fully vaccinated or not, and then squirt.. squirt .. the staff helped us with sanitizing our hands.
Service here is really attentive and courteous. The atmosphere is nice, cozy and Japanese décor. The set lunch set for Tempura set nice & I must say the chawamushi both my son and I concluded with similar verdict... NICE. This Chawamushi’s taste gave the taste bud a pleasant lingering mixture taste of all the ingredients inside the cup once in the mouth. At the same time when the food hit your mouth, one would scent the delicious smell too. As for price wise, I would think is reasonable especially food ingredients prices are on the rise. For the one I ordered Butaniku/Gyuniku Shougayaki set, stir fried beef with ginger sauce, I do not rate it well if compared to the Tempura set. Paper thin beef slices and with mountain of mixed vegetables. Taste to me is so so and would not order again. Overall, a pleasant dine in experience and a recommended place to come for your Japanese food fix or a stopover meal...
Read moreI am bad at taking photos, trust me it tastes a lot better than the photos might appear. It’s my second time visiting this branch, and I absolutely love it. Normally I will have bento set menu or some rolled sushi, but this time I decided to try something different. I order yakisoba and it was very good. Noodles cooked just right, and the japanese style soy sauce compliments it well. Seafood is fresh (squid was very good, prawn is just normal and not that big to be honest), and I love how the cabbage is still crispy, so it gives a mixed texture when you bite into the noodles and vegetables together. RM 26
I also had their butter grilled chicken. Trust me, it is worth coming here just for this. The seasoning is more on the western side, mainly because of the buttery sauce. Very fragrant, and yet not greasy at all. The side vegetables also played an important role in cleansing your palette. The chicken is tender, juicy and well seasoned. Love it!! RM 25
I also had their miso soup, but it was quite disappointing. Miso is not thicc enough, and the seaweed has a bit fishy smell. Tofu is also very little. It’s ok considering that it’s just RM 3.30, but it could have been better. Green tea was nice, and free refill just like any other japanese places for RM 2.50
Overall it’s under RM 60, because there’s 10% discount for payment with...
Read moreWorst experience I ever had in any Sushi Zento branch. Zero social distancing, fine. The restaurant is taking more capacity than they can handle then give terrible service.
I hope this branch of sushi zento start to learn from other premium branch like sushi zento tg tokong before people start thinking of sushi zento as just another expensive but low class...
