The softest bread I've ever had in Penang and I'm from Penang. One of the best biryani rice I had since a long time ago. I was on my way back from coffee and donut, thus too full to stomach dinner. But the menu striked me and I decided to give it a go and had takeaway two dishes. I had somali bread with vindaloo chicken and chicken biryani. The bread is the softest a flat bread could ever get, so nice and so good. The vindaloo is not something that you'll ever get in Penang, well rounded and bold in taste, nice a very nice pairing with the somali bread. The biryani was good. The raita and sweet and sour sauce brought balance to the biryani meal. I personally ask for the fried chicken as I had a bad experience at the other Kapitan (Setia), their grilled chicken biryani was too oily for my liking (sorry to bring Kapitan Setia here). So I had the fried chicken to avoid the same bad experience I had at the other Kapitan. Now that I've tasted Kapitan Signature food, I'm most certain that their grilled biryani will be as good. Although I had a takeway, while waiting, I observed the upper class (can I actually say this) serving plates served to their dine-in customers. Not like a typical mamak. Staff were all well mannered. I'm the kind of person who doesn't mind paying for a good service. Thus I appreciate their effort. I really wish that their business stick around and get support...
Read moreMy wife & I was having dinner here. The atmosphere was nice & well setup. Ordered wild mushroom soup, signature soft shell crab pasta spaghetti, Teszta Beef steak & Salmon with butter rice. Soup & carbonara were served 1st, however without utensils - folk/spoon/knife been given, thus have to ask for the utensils. Soup was nice, however, the recommended Signature soft shell crab carbonara by the waiter was totally far below expectations - whole soft shell crab was fried & oily absorbed. Worst was the spaghetti was totally tasteless! Asking the waiter, the explanation was that salt was not added & we have to add ourselves if needed??!! Best part is that if the restaurant expects the customers to manually add the salt, the salt & pepper were not prepared but have to request again. As of writing this comment, I just realized that I was fooled as 1 of the ingredients of the pasta was salted egg but didn't taste any salted egg! The beef steak was then served, I ordered medium cooked but it was well done. After finishing all except Salmon butter rice that was ordered for my wife still yet to arrive. Decided to cancel & move to Starbucks to continue the dinner for my wife. Managed to feedback to the ladies owner & believed the guy owner was sitting beside should have witnessed partially & hope that the feedback was taken positively & work on...
Read moreThis is, without a doubt, one of the best Briyanis I’ve ever had in my life! Yes, you heard that right – this is the place! If you’re a Briyani lover, look no further. It’s that good!
I had their Chicken Dalgona Briyani, and what an absolute treat it was. Every bite was bursting with flavour, and it truly made my entire trip to Penang worth every penny. If you come here, you have to try this dish – it’s an absolute must!
And don’t get me started on their Masala Chai. It’s the ultimate drink to complete your meal – warm, rich, and perfectly spiced. I couldn’t stop wishing they’d open a branch in Perlis so I could enjoy this goodness more often.
This was a dining experience I’ll never forget. Truly memorable, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re anywhere near Penang, you owe it to yourself to come here. You...
