Chaang Caffe — Restaurant in Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council

My family has dined at this café several times, and our past experiences have been quite decent. However, during today’s dinner, all our dishes were served except for my mum’s spaghetti, which took much longer than expected. By the time it arrived, we had almost finished our meals. While I didn’t mind the delay too much, the issue with our birthday cake was disappointing.

We brought a cake for the celebration, but after the waitress took it out of the original box to serve it, she threw the box away without informing us. After a long wait and no update from the staff, we finally asked about it, only to learn that the box had been discarded. Their proposed solution was to use their own cake box, but it was too small. To make it fit, they decided to cut the cake into smaller pieces and we agreed to it since it was the most possible solution at the time, which resulted in a complete mess. At that point, I was too tired to argue and simply took the remaining cake along with their apology...

Always a regular customer at Chaang's cafe, the food and beverages here are phenomenal as usual, especially grilled chicken chop and thai aloe vera drink, they're always me go-to dish here, the chicken are getting smaller and smaller, pls remain the serving portion. But the more I visit, the more I find the service backsliding. There's this one time when I came to order a cup of latte in the morning. The waitress stood there staring at me ordering which was not a problem at all tho, but after I've done ordering, she told me the shop's still closed and the coffee machines weren't ready yet. Like ???? Also, when I questioned about how to register to become a member and how does it work, again she stood beside and looked at me blankly 🫤 Asked for utensils but after a couple of minutes no one came back, had to go to the counter and request for it again. Service still have room to maneuver, not to be mean but it must be improved bcs some of the waitresses...

I highly recommend the chicken chop, fish n chips, and creamy mushroom pasta. Everything is seasoned really well and the portion is decent for the price. You can also add pasta for +RM3 if you're a big eater (last pic). Tried their cheesy wedges and it was DROWNED in cheese sauce. For the first time in my life I'd say that there was too much cheese sauce lol. Still finished it tho, the wedges were crispy on the outside but soft in the middle. They recently implemented QR ordering which still needs to improve, but other than that the food, coffee, and atmosphere is good! The shop has 2 floors, and the 2nd floor doesn't have AC. The sandwiches and wraps are just okay. Mini croissant is pretty good. Coffee is good, they use double shot unless you're ordering from...
