Awesome Brew @ Sunway Citrine — Restaurant in Iskandar Puteri

The cafe is divided into two sections... the main one houses the kitchen, cashier as well as a small sofa seat area while the other section across the walkway is the main dining area. Nice ambiance tho I wish the air-con is cooler as this 'glass-house' section can get pretty warm easily when the sun is out, surrounded by glass windows and panels. Staff is friendly and attentive, and service is prompt. Premises are also well-maintained and clean.

We ordered the smoked duck aglio olio, brekkie set, churros and the blueberry pancakes. While the aglio olio (kind of overly seasoned I feel) and brekkie set are decent and tasty, the highlight is the churros and mixed berries pancakes! They are superbly executed with the churros crispy on the outside and custardy soft on the inside, and the mixed berries sauce tasted like a freshly made smoothie - not overly sweet and pairs well with the fluffy pancakes.

As for the drinks, we had the orange coffee, matcha latte and ginger beer coffee - all exquisitely put together - which are also delicious and refreshing with a balance of flavours. Wish they come in bigger glasses/mugs!

Price of the food is on the high side after adding GST and service charge. And I do wish they can offer more choices/options in the menu like a wider selection of mains, burgers and brunch like sandwiches, etc. But it's a good place to dine with family or friends once a month or so.

AB has become among our favourite top 3 places to chill in JB - wife and daughter+ 1yr son included. I choose my espresso diligently, and this place serves my coffee that tastes well. So... Good brewed coffee, And the carrot cake is also Awesome. Top menu recommended are egg Benedict that comes with salad on the side. The Korean chicken is the most popular here according to them but it takes a few visits I guess to acquire the taste - it's a bit sweet and I'm no Korean food lover. The mash potato in truffle oil is perfect - my son loves it - and so is the smoothie bowl, which has several varieties. My daughter loves this as well. Check out the coffee lab next to it that sells coffee beans. You can taste before you buy its brewed and dripped. and they guy that sells it is a coffee expert so he can help you understand coffee drinking. Take away is available. We bought some Ethiopian beans and it's aroma and taste are well defined. Also it's accessibility is great as it's located at the sunway citrine hub on the 1st floor with no hassle parking lots and walkalator to go up. You know sometimes coffee that is not brewed well leaves a sour taste in the mouth? The experience coming here is exactly like that. I was here a few days ago hoping to come in for brunch with a friend and they said drinks only, no food items. Just yesterday I visited again and they said the same thing plus the separated wing is closed off for a meeting. The main shop hasn't got much seats to begin with and so I left. Went over to Pizz and had a much better time even if they were not a coffee place. But still one which I will go back to from now on if I were in the area even if I had to detour. Looking through the reviews it looks like mine is not the isolated case. Since they are mostly not interested why should I help contribute to their bottom line in an area thick with competition but little on walk thru traffic?
