I made the mistake of going there for lunch and I had the worst time ever. Wasted RM 121.

It seems like a nice bar but food-wise you’d be much better off elsewhere.

I went there at around 2pm with another person. The two of us ordered: Chicken Chop on a sizzling plate with mushroom sauce, nasi goreng biasa, fried anchovies to which we added egg and sausage, one hot latte and a coke float.

I don’t know why restaurants like to use sizzling plates if it does not add any flavour or cook to the food. The chicken chop came on a bed of raw cabbage (presumably to prevent it from getting burnt on the hot plate), potato wedges, overcooked corn, some broccoli and cauliflower. Mushroom sauce (as recommended by the waiter) was poured atop the chicken table side. Even the sauce barely touched the hot plate as most of the bottom of the plate was covered with the cabbage. Chicken did not taste nice. Some parts looked like they were boiled.

Nasi goreng was bland, tasteless. Very few anchovies in the rice and a fried egg atop. Found it a waste of money.

Anchovy dish - ikan bilis (the Malay name for anchovies) were fried well but the sausage was foul tasting and not even fried properly. The egg we added was alright, just scrambled in.

The overall bill was RM 121 for 2pax. I really wouldn’t recommend this place for food. There were a few other diners - two other tables with 2pax and a group of 8. Mostly seemed to be drinking with...

Food was great as usual. Manager not so much.

Last minute surprise lunch with wife as I like Tribus food quality. She brought together small pre-packed lunch prepared in the morning as she wanted to accompany me. We ordered big lunch with 3 main dishes and drinks.

While eating, dear manager came up to us and stopped my wife from eating the small packed "outside food". I told him sorry and asked to allow us to finish our meal. By the way, we hv ordered food for more than 2 persons. As he was so adamant to stop my wife from continue eating, my appetite disappeared. That really spoilt our lunch date. We packed up all our unfinished ordered food.

As a returning customer, we were surprised by the gung-ho attitude of the "procedure-abiding employee". Could he have been better to remind politely after we have completed my meal at least ?? Has he not being trained by the management to be sensible based on situation as long as you keep your customer happy ?

Owh, that signage of No Outside Food, so small and swarmed by other adverts at the entrance. Took us about a minute or two to see it.

No more Tribus Tmn Impian Emas for us. But no issue and thumbs up for Iskandar...

Wonderful service with good food overall. The place has adequate lighting and grandly decorated exuding good familial vibes - inviting decent crowd. Dishes are a tad expensive but they worth the taste and the average portion size. The servers are very friendly as if I was a frequent there (actually one of my friend was). I had the: sizzling grilled chicken chop with extra mashed potato : it was a good experience and the chicken was rightly marinated. Mushroom soup : not the usual Campbell stock soup - I enjoyed ever bit with the garlic breads. Fried Mushroom : tasted like fried calamari but better - there is a hint of spice😍😘. Paneer on skewer : I would say this one of the best cottage cheese I ever had. No bloatednes afterwards! The only downside was, the onions were very tough, but not much of gripe though😉😁. Chocolate Milk shake : very generous serving size, and the cherry on top was the real deal - fresh and sweet👌. Classic Mojito : just nice! Could have been better if served with sugar cane stick 😋😁.

I am looking forward to my next visit...
