Cleared the checkpoint within an hour and searching for dim sum restaurant on Google. Follow the map and experience ended up in Perling 大四喜。 First thought 🤔 in my mind I was thinking was this the same I used to frequent a decade ago back in Pelangi (where the current seven oak) is now. Anyone can verify
And I vividly remember I saw another in Johor Jaya many many years back. If this is the same restaurant den it must be good 👍 😊 but Google map cannot locate the restaurant in the location anymore.
Nonetheless we joined the snake queue and after 10mins of waiting we got assigned to our table of 5 pax. Service was pretty fast and efficient I would say. Service staff took our food and drink order and a wide variety of dim sum was delivered to our table to picking.
Pretty decent I would say with not much hit or misses. Siew Mai was filled with shrimp 🍤, har gao was pretty much nah, chicken feet was also not towards our liking even thou it was soft, the Xiao long BAO was the kids favorite but the presentation wasn't impressive.
Overall a very decent morning dim sum breakfast with not much options early in...
Read moreCame here twice to eat, and made a trip specially just to dabao the frozen food — all in less than a month. this should show how great the food is already!
Personal fav would definitely be liu sha bao and the dan gui siew mai (but only if you like dangui and is not bothered by the slight bitterness)
The hong you chao Shou, hargow, steamed pai gu, lou mai gai, and this crispy thingy near the hand grabbing the milk tea in the second pic are highly recommended.
Personally would suggest you to eat the normal siewmai first (the one with red filling at the top) before eating the dangui ones (the one with green filling).
Ji chong fan should be ok since I don’t really recall anything, and fried carrot cake that was not fry with beansprout was not bad too.
Personally wont recommend the sesame peanut ball (cos it’s a little too sweet, but this serves as a great desserts at the end of the meal), fried guotie (I remember it not being hot so the taste was compromised), chao carrot cake with beansprout (it might be because we were too full + it’s the last dish so we didn’t finish it too), and xiao long Bao (I think the filling and soups weren’t that favourful, I might be biased since I like the one from Beauty world...
Read moreThough there was a queue of about 3-5 groups when we arrive, it moved fairly fast. We got there before 12 on a Saturday and the place is bustling with both indoor and outdoors seating.
You picked off what you want from a tray full of plates when the servers go around. You can also order direct if you already knew what you want. Porridge ran out and the glutinous chicken rice took about 10-15 mins. Definitely very flavourful and worth the calories.
The fried items are not bad.
They have two varieties of several items - chicken feet and my dad prefer the red one over the braised mushroom one. Next is siew mai - normal and one with dang gui. Give the dang gui one a try, it’s a novelty to taste the medicinal herb in a dim sum. Same goes for carrot cake and egg tarts. Vote for your favourites!
The buns are generously filled. Custard lava was oozing out and best shared! Chee Cheong fun is decent too with a spunky chill served on the side.
We spent about less than rm30 per pax including drinks. Worth a visit if you consider the decent fare and...
