One of the longstanding stalwarts of Batu Pahat, Sea View restaurant delivers classic chinese cuisine in an outstanding manner, at a surprisingly reasonable price.

Walk in and you experience the ballroom-like ambience, broad and wide. This restaurant is perhaps set up to cater for larger, festive occasions with family, and the spectrum of dishes reflect ones best eaten as a group. It's a place where you would want to take an entourage to, if you wanted to impress!

The menu is extensive without being redundant, catering for a broad spectrum of tastes. We had the streamed (Patin) fish, fresh and beautifully sautéed; the fried veg which was infused with the aroma of the wok at high heat; and their signature pork belly dish, and the classic soft tofu. Our meal had delicately balanced flavours, aromatically inviting with none of them overpowering one another.

The service was polite and responsive. Our drinks and tea were promptly refilled, and unused dishes cleared.

Overall a fantastic culinary experience, with our little group of fussy and discerning eaters leaving happy- each with their own favourite dishes. Highly...

We ordered:

1. Brocoli with crab meat
2. Steamed egg with meat
3. Cereal prawns
4. Fried fish slices
5. Fried chicken with floss
6. Fish maw soup

Some of the options were not obvious that they are Fried. So that's why we needed up with 3 Fried dishes lol. And some of the option was not indicated in the menu, ie cereal prawns was not listed as an option. We only knew they had it when we asked the staff what's their recommended dishes.

The brocoli was a tad too salty and we ordered the wrong type of fish maw soup. We wanted fish maw with crab meat (look like shark fin soup kind) but ended up ordering the fish maw in clear soup lol. But soup was good nonetheless.

The menu could be clearer but recommend their Fried sliced fish and steamed egg (very silky and smooth).

There seems to be 2 types of wait staff. The ones who top up your drinks, change your plates etc can't really explain the menu or recommend any dishes to you.

Those who can recommend seems to be too busy running around taking orders etc. Had to specifically catch their attention or get the (drinks) staff to ask for them...

You can book your wedding dinner here. They have a singing stage. The place is 6 shops big. They use 4 floors. Their fish is fresh. Claypot dishes are good. Also have abalone and shark fins. Fried rice and noodle are available. Fried chicken and pork are good. Their signature dish is vegetable. Parking space is big. Toilets are clean. Air conditioning is here. Service fast and polite. Pay only when you are leaving. Sometimes the customer gives angpow as a token of thanks. They have takeaway service. They also have delivered services to your residents. You can also book them to cook in your house such as party. But you have to tell them the capacity of people there. I mean they also do catering.
