I having birthday celebration and booked a room with pre order the dishes. I having very bad experienced for dinner. I preorder the dishes and waited 1hrs for the food serve to me. The rice is very cold and hard to bite. It is very disappointed about the service when I approach the counter staff, she is using very unfriendly tone told me that is shortage of chef.

I fully understand the shortage of manpower but it could be better approach or manner especially dealing with customer. I seek help to top up the water for the tea, they ask me to using the water dispenser inside the room to top up myself. When I see, the water is cold and need to boil. I asking for the snack to serve for quick bite but they told me snack is out of order.

I would strong advise the restaurant to retrain their staff for politely dealing with the customer and if cannot even manage to top up water to customer, I think the restaurant also have difficult time to continue...

We were lucky to get a table by the kitchen even without a reservation, as we happened to be the first customers that day.

The table was a little oily, and we had to ask the staff to clean it again. The utensils weren’t very clean either, and the tea had a slight chlorine taste but the food was really good. Every dish was authentic and true to the Teochew flavour.

The restaurant is tucked away in an industrial area with limited parking, and it tends to get crowded with tour buses on weekends. It’s best to make a reservation and head there early to secure both a table and a parking spot.

Despite the minor hygiene hiccups, we’d still say it’s worth visiting for the food alone especially if you appreciate authentic Teochew...

The family just had dinner at this restaurant and we drove all the way from singapore. Wanted to try their teochew dishes for some time now.

The restaurant seems to be located within an industrial area and parking was “park as you wish” type. It was clean and pretty big. There was this section where all the live seafood was located. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We ordered some very traditional teochew dishes and the braised platter and yam paste stood out. The rest was ok only. Price wise, reasonable but I guess I wouldn’t drive that far in future as there wasn’t any dishes that’s outstanding. But don’t get me wrong, their food was ok. Just not outstanding except for the braised stuff and yam paste...

Food - hit and miss Traditional chye poh kway teow - no carrot and mushroom (I requested to be removed) as this dish is of humble origins during the time Swatow area was poor, just chye poh, kak na (kailan), egg and 1cm wide kway teow (certainly not horfun). But wokhei is there but chye poh not chopped fine enough and kak na can be more. Salted egg 银鱼 eat 3rd piece jerlak already Orh luak not gooey enough, neither crispy, oysters okok lah Braised duck dish looks like some spare pieces of duck meat assembled together Yam Fish soup is GOOD. Can add 6 - 8 more sour plums. Yam is fragrant. Grouper meat is plump. Traditional recipe with 玉竹 is used
