We went here for berbuka puasa recently. Here was our experience right during reservation via phone conversation up until we head back home.
Late response via WhatsApp. They only replied till the last minute when we were outside, contemplating to find other place to reserve. Once they replied, we take some time to order as we were on the road. Made payment once we parked but then there were series of information needed to complete. While completing, Ashhryshoshedap employee called and asked rudely whether we have made payment. When my husband replied back rudely, she (the employee who called) still tried to fight even though my husband mentioned that he was completing the so-many required information that they asked. At the end only she slowed down but still denied the fact that she was being rude and sounds "marah-marah" at the first place.
We were directed to our table, which turns out we were given the seating in the lot with shoes inside (FRKL21). We were fine until the smell of shoes filling up the air and it affected our mood further. But well, since we have paid in advance, we need to stay regardless of the smell and atmosphere since the place was crowded.
Drink's portion is fine. Honey lemon was fine. Watermelon juice was, well, lack of watermelon. It was bland and I could only taste plain water and ice.
Now about the food. The portions are fine and satisfying. Salted spaghetti with prawn were delicious. I loved how they managed to remove the shrimp vein even though the shrimp is still in its shell. The cheese makes it tasted sweet but didn't overpower other taste. Udang masak lemak set was spicy, but thats it. It would suit for those preferred no sweetness and only spiciness. We had high expectation on Sotong Celup Tepung due to its high price. The squid meat was tough and hard to eat. We need to swallow the squid as a whole to eat, instead of biting it slowly. However, even when we swallow it, we could not chew it properly. The flour taste was nice but we could not enjoy the taste of squid. For the price, this is absolutely disappointing.
Mixed surau. I'm not sure if the owner of this place is Muslim, but I believe if they are, they should know and understand that it was difficult for customers to pray given that we need to share with other genders. Lack of privacy especially when male customers need to check if there is someone inside, they would just open the door and close if they see there are females praying or using the space.
For this Ashhryshoshedap, I believe 3 star is more than enough. Given the experience that we had right from the start, I'm not sure if this is an experience I wanted to repeat.
To add on, this was my second time coming and that was only because my husband wanted to. My first time experience was just nice, with no pulling point or uniqueness that would make me wanted to repeat. Now my second experience just confirmed it. Not sure about the hype they were receiving, or maybe that was because the others wanted to redeem the promised pastry and rated them 5 star? I'm glad I forgot to redeem it tho cause it did not worth it. I applaud the marketing strategy and employees service (except the one that called my husband rudely).
I think these justified the 3 stars. The place could make some more training to those that handles their business phone, improve further on the drinks and sotong celup tepung. And especially please do not put customers to eat with a bunch of shoes.... the chemical smell of shoes would not only affect the atmosphere, but the food quality as well as customer's health. This place have potential and only requires continuous improvement while address necessary...

Lemon tea charge 7.90 for that powder ice lemon tea? too sweet too sour small glass & too much price of powder ice lemon tea
Bukan milo charge us 9.90 for this drink small glass choc taste ok but too sweet (even we mention less sweet)
Sangkaya serve lambat (we need to ask) kaya cold taste not worth it
Overall :
Food overprice ( i can accept coz i know that place rental very expensive) taste (i feel salted je boleh makan even u use a lot of instant salted egg powder) overall comment untuk makanan yg kami makan, rasa menyesal bile sahur dapat makanan yang mcm ni punya quality better u just sell salted egg je kot... last but not least, u food serve soo slow. 3 dish sahaja we need to wait around 30 minute... time + quality food + price = tak berbaloi langsung...
Drink overprice also glass too small kene hantar pergi kursus buat air bayar mahal untuk quality, not bayar mahal untuk minum ice lemon tea powder..
Service around 2.30am i can understand staff a bit mengantuk, i wont comment about that can see more that 5 staff lepak depan entrance kitchen main hp & gelak2 not much comment just try to appreciate your customer
For ash, i know u bro. Since u start FRKL i support u, but honestly u need to learn more how to serve food. I can say mamak shop teh ais lemon rm3 much better than your lemon tea & revise semula your staff & food recipe if u nk stay lama dalam line f&b. Study lagi & perbaiki food & drink. I visit your kedai again next year and i hope can see a lot of...
Read moreCame for dinner. Placed my name and phone number in the queue sheet and decided to walk around since there were 6 groups ahead of us.
Came back after 10 minutes and were told that our name was skipped as they could not find us when they called my name. Makes me wonder why the need to put down my number when there was no attempt to call me when it was my turn.
So we waited another 5 minutes before we were led to our table. Nice ambience and the menu is hilarious. Ordered from two phones as we wanted to pay separately. Realised they did not prepare the water on the table. When they came to serve the carafe, they gave two glasses for a table of four. I is confusion too, but I is not affected cos we ordered (awesome!) drinks.
Food came. I think we hyped ourselves too much from the menu listing as the food was lukewarm and not up to the standards raved in the reviews.
Pasta from the salted egg prawn was undercooked but the prawn were above expectations.
For the meatball and fries, meatballs were warm, but we felt it should have been left on the fryer a tad longer so that it is edibly hot. This was also the same issue for the popiah otah.
Creamy butter clam was good with the mantou. Just a little salty.
We had to wait for 10 minutes before we asked about the missing nasi goreng sotong goreng. We were then told that the food was put into the queue. No apologies from the staff nor any service recovery made. Manager with the puffy blouse went to check our order receipt and realised our second receipt was not attached.
The nasi goreng tasted like rice mixed with Seri Aji and Maggi seasoning, pre-cooked and kept in a container, only to be scooped out to serve. Sotong was chewy but the batter was delicious.
The only good thing we had was the keropok lekor. That was a great side dish.
We concluded that the menu was catered to the Malaysian taste. It gives TikTok vibes but we felt it was overhyped to create a buzz for people to visit and try at least once.
If you'd like a place to fill your Instagram feed, this is the right place. But foodies, give it a try and decide what rating you think it deserves.
No hate, but I really love the drinks. That's all I like about the menu. Apart from spending over RM200 on 4 main dishes, 2 sides and 3 drinks.
As they say, "Belum...
