Marina Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Johor

This is the typical Chinese restaurant that has stood the age of time since I was just a little kid in the late 70's. They serve down to earth delicious and fresh seafood cooked in Chinese style.

I ordered the prawns in Indonesian sauce and fried squid in oatmeal with 4 stir fried veggies and it immediately brought me back to my childhood days when my family had annual year end singapore vacations.

The smell and texture of the food as well as the taste jolted a part of my memory long ago. Prawns in Indonesian sauce is paired with fried man tau for you to dunk the lightly fried but fluffy bread in the almost tomyum like sauce. The prawns were large, juicy and succulent.

The fried squid coated with oatmeal was amazing as well. Succulent and tender inside and lightly crunchy outside.

I can't wait to go back to JB again to sample more. I used to frequent JB on a monthly basis but never knew this restaurant's existence then. Now that I know, this will be one of my favourite makan...

We live nearby so decided to have a quick simple dinner. Overall it's been our to go place. But recent visit, we werent so hungry so decided to order for 1 person and share. We ordered one Mee Sua dish (1pax) and one kai lan veg fried with Garlic and one orange juice drink, food was nice as usual. But when the bill came, it was over RM70. We were so shocked that the noodle was RM38 for 1 persons portion. We were not on a budget or anything, but 3 items for RM70 is too much. The portion was so small also. I was utterly disappointed. Went for a small group celebration, the staff claimed is served no pork. We ordered small portion to try out some of the their food such as steam fish, fried squid, Indonesian style prawn and broccoli. Taste was decent, portion was good enough for 4 adults and 5 kids. We were there quite late so not many patrol and parking space was ample. Location is beside the highway. The washroom was inside the attached hotel.
