We visited this place for a light meal on a weekday late afternoon and found it quite challenging to get a parking spot. Despite it being a weekday, the restaurant was rather full, and we had to wait a while before someone greeted us and found us a table. Unfortunately, the table had not been cleaned properly, and there were food remnants on the chairs as well, which we had to clean ourselves. The environment was also quite hot and stuffy.
Initially, we had planned to visit The Original Kluang Rail Coffee at the Old KTMB Kluang Station, but as it was closed on Mondays, we decided to visit this branch at Jalan Duku instead. Overall, the atmosphere was noisy, quite warm and stuffy, and the cleanliness left much to be desired. Some staff were properly attired with head coverings and masks, but others were not.
We ordered the Mee Kari Wantan (RM13.90), Mee Rebus (RM10.90), Roti Keping Bakar-Butter Kaya (RM3.80), Kopi Ais (RM5.50), and Kopi C (RM3.60). The Mee Kari Wantan was quite good, but sadly the noodles were only slightly warmâalmost coldâwhich was very disappointing as we prefer our noodles piping hot; this was not even lukewarm. The Mee Rebus was average. The Roti Keping Bakar-Butter Kaya and the Kopi Ais were both good, but the Kopi C was once again disappointing.
We later asked whether the Mee Kari Wantan came with the usual sambal condiment. A staff member subsequently brought it over, but we were charged RM1.20 for it. While RM1.20 is a small amount, if there is an additional charge, the staff should have informed us beforehand, as condiments typically come free with the main meal.
We had purposely made a stop in Kluang to experience the Oldest Railway Kopitiam in Malaysia. While the coffee and toast were indeed quite good, the overall experience was disappointing. We sincerely hope the management will look into...
Read moreComplete ASS management skills by the waiters, SLOW cooking and mid food.
The weather was hot as hell that day, and we came as a 5 person group. For some godamn reason, they keep giving groups of 2-4 people the 6-8 people table. Of course, we are given a hot ass table on the outside of the shop with the heat radiating into my eyeballs. There was even a couple playing games on their phone and occupying a table that can occupy 6 people. Then I saw a group consisting of 2 adults and a baby occupying a table that can accomodate 8 people paying. Logically, I asked the waiter to reserve the table for my friends and I cause we couldnât stand the heat causing us to sweat our balls out. But for some reason, they forgot and gave the table to a big group.
Next, the waiteess buta ke ape tak tau la. When you have the customers write down to order the food, logically the waiter should confirm the order right? Well they didnât. The code 6 written by my friend suddenly in their eyes turned into an 8, leading to them punching in the order wrong. Of course la, we were confused who ordered this mystery item.
Then they served the food also soooo lambat. Even my friend that eats the slowest also finish eating before my food even arrived!!!!!
Food is very biasa and mid. Overly commercialised and overhyped place. Not worth my time, sweat or money. You come to Kluang donât come to this over-rated place. This place can make you hangry, and I myself am a very calm person in general. Itâs so infuriating that the waiters and cook did a complete ass job and the cashier had the guts to roll my eyes at me when I still paid the full amount. Might a well spit...
Read moreKluang Rail Coffee â Nostalgia, But Nothing New They say visiting Kluang Rail Coffee (ć± éźç«èœŠç«ććĄ) is a must. So we went. Only to find outâthe HQ is closed on Mondays. And apparently, there are five branches now. We didnât know that either. . So off we went to the Jalan Duku branch. . đ„Ș What we ordered: Bread, noodles, and drinks. Everything was okay. The Kam Heong noodle leaned sweet. Drinks were passable. . But hereâs where things went downhillâ Service. Some staff seemed completely disconnected. What annoyed us more was the lack of communicationâ A noodle we ordered simply vanished from existence. No one told us it was out of stock. No updates until we followed up. . Were they busy? Not really. This felt more like a broken systemâno feedback loop between kitchen and customer. Just silence. . âš Is it still unique? Sadly, no. It feels commercial now. Big name, polished brandingâbut nothing stood out. . đĄ Could it improve? Absolutely. Better communication. More attentive service. Preserve the Kluang charm, but elevate the food quality. . đ Will we return? Maybeâjust to visit the original HQ, for a dose of nostalgia. . đž Would we recommend it? Only as a photo stop for history lovers. When it comes to good coffee? There are better brews in Kluangâyou just need to look a little...
