Visited this place with a friend of mine for the first time yesterday (our first time in Kluang too), and we had to queue for around 30minutes (we were there at around 1+pm). But it didn't let us down; most of the food that we ordered were delicious! We ordered: - 1 sambal bun - 1 kaya butter bun - 1 bowl of wanton mee - 1 bowl of laksa - 1 bowl of mee tai mak - 3 bottles of the ice coffee original - 1 cup of ice neslo - 1 cup of 3 layer coffee The sambal bun (if you like spicy food), kaya bun (if you love a good mix of thick butter and not-so-sweet kaya), wanton mee (if you love lighter taste with a chewy noodle texture), and the mee tai mak (if you enjoy the dried kind with sweet sauce) are the must-order food! Neslo was alright (not too sweet but thick) but the 3 layer coffee was very sweet (and it doesn't look anything like what's shown on the menu). The staff and service there were also friendly, efficient, and fast! As for sight-seeing, there isn't much to see as most areas are blocked off from visitors. Will recommend everyone who's heading to Kluang to try at least once!

We found a table at the perfect timing right before the train arrived or else we’d have been stuck in a queue with over 20+ people. The restaurant is not that big, so waiting may be an issue. It’s incredible how they’ve kept the structure and place so nice after 86 years. It’s decorated with articles and pictures explaining the rich history of the railway station. We tried the johor laksa, mee siam kampung, and roti bakar butter kaya. Johor laksa was definitely an unusual highlight, as they use spaghetti instead of yellow mee. Their broth was rich and flavourful too. Go for their mee siam kampung instead of the regular mee siam, as the taste is completely different and unique to this place. It’s filled with dried shrimp and tastes wonderful as well. Roti bakar butter kaya had a thick layer of butter and generous kaya, but can be finished in 3 bites or so. Coffee is nice but nothing that special. Tastes the same as the other kopis around town.

Came for their food on a Sunday around 10am for breakfast. The queue was quite long, waited almost 30mins to be seated. Ordered: 🥚Soft boiled egg (2pcs by default) - dipped my butter kaya toast in the soft boiled egg - chef kiss 🍞Butter kaya toast - love the melting butter, and their homemade kaya 🍜Mee wantan - came with fishball soup sambal, taste like classic chinese wantan mee, but if they serve with chilli oil, say no more 🍚Nasi lemak - a very simple nasi lemak, no fancy fried chicken or other dishes to pair with 🥙Bun sambal special - love this so much, not spicy - taste like nasi lemak but in the form of bread😅 🍘Cucur ikan bilis - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, not too salty 🧋3 layer ice coffee - the coffee very 'gao', sweetness from the gula melaka is a little too sweet to my liking, but surprisingly affordable for the taste ☕️Also bought 2 packets of their 3 in 1 coffee - very 'gao' and have special charred aroma

Definitely a worthwhile stop if passing through Kluang Railway station.

There is a queue when we were there (15-20mins).

Once inside, server will leave order sheet and return to collect, once completed.

We ordered quite a lot as everything looked tempting, after the wait!

Personal favourites Laksa Johor Although not 100% authentic, it was uniquely tasty especially when eaten hot.

Half boiled egg Cant go wrong with this one!

Cucur This was a nice surprise, crunchy on the outside yet soft on the inside (cliche 😃) and mostly it was tasty, served hot.

Cold coffee Basic and nice on a hot day! Icy cold, palatably sweet with the perfect tinge of coffee bitter.

Spouse likes the kaya butter bun and ordered a lot. I however abstained as am not too keen on the "generous" butter/magerine spread 🫣

The one star off is because of the flies! Had to continuously fan over our food as they were a tenacious bunch. If you are particular about this then it is best to give this establishment a pass or...

I visited this place as a tourist, as recommended by the guide : they earned their reputation serving plain coffee without milk to the head of state who patronize the place lots of time.

They serves traditional breakfast with a great variety of local cuisines such as mee siam and nasi lemak. The coffee without milk comes with a local recipe that promises a strong, acidic fragrance. I personally think it's a MUST TRY for coffee connoisseur who favours strong brew. The toast come with kaya (coconut jam) and butter, served crispy and hot from the toaster, complements the coffee as a great breakfast.

The service is also good! I know very little malay for conversation. But it does not stop the staff from understanding what I wanted to order, coupled with a simple menu to add to convenience of ordering. The speed of service is also rather fast, taking into consideration I visited on a day when the restaurant was crowded.

Overall, a MUST visit place for coffee and...
