Ramly Kopitiam is an old haunt of BP. We've been there several times -- Friday mornings seem to be busiest because of the weekly holiday, so it was packed to the brim but the ambience is lively and bustling with young families and friends hanging out. Diners sit shoulder to shoulder.
Watch out for the local cat roaming across the tightly packed tables 🐈. I stepped on it, and it gave us the loudest holler!
Food wise, we ordered soto daging, mee rebus, satay ayam, and roti bakar/eggs. Soto daging and satay were excellent, roti was standard, whilst mee rebus wasn't up to par (in my view - it was overly sweet). Beverages, especially the tea-o, were nicely made.
Come early. Otherwise, certain items run out quickly, e.g., beef satay, jemput jemput.
Overall, I would say Ramly's reputation, having been around for decades, vastly precedes the quality of its food. Nevertheless, a visit is still worth the old-school dining experience...

We visited Ramly Kopitiam in Batu Pahat on a Friday, and it was a full house, likely due to the Friday holiday in Johor. The atmosphere was bustling and lively.
The food was decent overall, with quite generous portions. We tried the Lontong with sambal Sotong, priced at RM9, and the Bihun Soto with Bergedil, which was around RM7 (if I'm not mistaken). Both dishes were okay but nothing particularly special. Wanted lontong kering but not available.
However, the sate daging stood out as the highlight of the meal. It was very fresh and tender, priced at RM1.20 per piece. Definitely worth a try if you visit.
The Roti Bakar set was quite standard, similar to what you would find at other kopitiams.
Overall, Ramly Kopitiam offers a good variety of dishes with some hits and misses. It's worth a visit, especially if you're a...
Read moreHad to give 1 star because cannot give zero. Been here twice and twice just left without eating because the service, more specifically staff attitude is worse that BP sewerage. Especially that lontong girl, when we came she gave us and another table attitude. Lontong is native of Johor, she can F herself if she thinks her lontong so special. So hard to order because place is busy just because people are waiting for bad slow service and not eating. The satay girl also gave attitude when asked to clear table. No uniform, how do we know if they're queen of England, waitress or satay girl. All the photos show peaceful ambience, it is not real. So much good food in BP, just skip this place. It's a chinese kopitiam wanna be with bad attitude and...
