I was having holiday with my mum and brother and plan to treat my mum on this famous seafood restaurant with something expensive.

After we arrive around 6.30pm, I suggested that I want to seat beside the sea view but was rejected. They told me it's a sitting for 10 pax and we only have 3 pax. I understand the captain situation and sit on the location they give.

When ordering, the captian did bother to explain the food when I ask on some of their speciality food. She only say like one have gravy and one don't. She walk away to other table when we picking our food and ignore us for quite some time and serve other table until we decide to order the lobster and fish. Of course I order the best for the last. She's simply so rude by saying take 2 lobster on the dishes that she can't even explain if it's spicy, sour or herbal taste. I'm not planning on wasting my food. I was planning on ordering more but stopped.

When come to fish, I order seabass and she suggested me to eat red snapper. AND THE EXCUSE SHE GAVE IS?? The fish has muddy taste??? Is that even legit? If the fish has muddy taste, why do you sell it? Just say la if you want us to spend more. I'm willing, but with your shitty attitude that look down on 3 pax (2 young boy and 1 mother) I rather not spend much. My brother is already complaining about walking away at this point. But, I don't plan to ruin my mum celebration. By the way she keep warn me no refunds if the fish taste muddy OUT LOUD. Like she thinks I will do that. If it's bad I don't think you should sell it, why not just 86 your food. 86 means out of stock in F&B. She blame the supplier but they don't plan of changing the fish. Which I find it suspicious.

When the food came, everything was delicious, including the seabass(no muddy taste and it's very fresh). The chef did a good job in their food. I work as a chef too so I know much about food.

Overall, just hope you don't get server by the taller old lady wearing black shirt(she's one of the captain). She's horrible in service. As someone who work's in the service industry, this kind of attitude is unacceptable!

By the way, our meal cost 396$ for 3 pax and still get this shitty attitude. They would earn more if she's not the captain. To bad for them. Was considered coming here again if their restaurant is great. But nope. I rather spend somewhere else, they are not the only seafood...

If I can give zero stars, I would have done it but I can’t.

I came on 14 Oct Saturday for dinner and arrived at around 7pm. After being whisked around the tables, a lady manager was agreeable to then arrange us at a outdoor seating. We declined the high chair as we were not comfortable with those seats.

At 7.10pm, we placed our order with a Chinese uncle and ordered two crabs (chilly sauce) , one plate of oyster omelette and one plate of brinjal. Added one plate of rice and 4 buns.

At 7. 30pm, the rice, 4 buns and brinjal arrived. We ate slowly deciding to wait for more dishes to arrive. At 7.40pm, the crabs arrived BUT not in the sauce we ordered. It was some combo of egg white and butter sauce. We highlighted this to the female manager who then mentioned there is an error and will ‘help us’ change. We felt slightly amused as it was their mistake and by her mentioning she will help us, it almost seemed like she was doing us a favour. Ouch
.. At 7.50pm (40 minutes after our order) , only the brinjal plate , 4 buns and rice were on our table. Those dishes had already came at 7.30pm. I asked a staff who walked across about the oyster omelette and he then said ‘wait’. After another 5minutes, no follow up. At 7.55am, I asked the female manager about the oyster omelette dish. She checked and murmured that it might have been cancelled but then rebooked at the invoice and then said she will ask the kitchen. At 8pm, we decided to leave the table and inform the female manager that we no longer wish to continue our meal.

To summarise , after a 50min wait, only the plate of brinjal , rice and 4 buns were served to us. We didn’t even eat the buns as they were meant to be consumed with the crab chilly sauce. The oyster omelette never turned up at all. I paid for what we ate and told the female manager that it is utterly unacceptable on the service standards.

I will never return to this place. And also for the sake of sharing info, the two crabs that arrived in the wrong sauce (returned) were so pitifully small
..

Pls do not go to this location. Most of the staff do not seem...

It’s a Friday night and the rain just stopped, with barely any customers in sight, with more staff than all other living beings combined. You walk in, everyone stares at you, and you’re expected to know what to do, like a canteen. The long walk from the entrance to the counter-looking area makes you feel out-of-place, while the staff continues to stare at you and anticipating your next move. Until you’re slightly more than halfway in between the entrance to the counter, then the staff signals to you in numerical hand-sign (“v” sign for 2 pax). I nodded my head and headed calmly towards the counter while reciprocating the “v” sign to indicate concurrence. They had ushered me to the outdoor area with the unbearable humming from the live band in the background (note: live band could not be found
) . I took my order of 1 bowl of white rice and 2 cups of something and they had called X 槐 to come take my order for the seafoods. After a while I broke the silence with X ć§ïŒŒ and I asked her the rough weight of the crabs they have this season. After making a very innocent comment that 800g for a crab is not that big, I was immediately greeted with an immense amount of condescend. After I ordered the crab, and I asked her nicely what else could she recommend, she recommended me to order the lobster. 2 persons, 1 crab and other dishes, and then the lobster?? why not recommend me to order the lobster in the first place? If you’re not sincere to introduce a palate for 2, then I’m not sure why you’re even working there.

Now to the food, sambal sotong with not even a trace of sambal; chilli crab at 700g with slightly bitter-tasting sauce. The green dragon vegetable was ok, and the white rice and fried man tou were what they were supposed to be.

Sambal sontong at 38 for a small, crab was at a seasonal price of 20 / 100g. My total bill came up to about 255.

I leave it to you to figure out if such an out-of-reach seafood restaurant with mediocre food and lacking service attitude is worth visiting (and again).

Gave this restaurant a try cos it was near where we lived. Also because it was a special occasion. Very disappointed despite having expectations prior to going (eg nice pics of food seen on their website, decent reviews with bad ones just saying it’s too expensive or service is bad). Maybe there were reviews saying the seafood isn’t fresh but maybe I chose to overlook it by being too excited since it was really near where we lived. Crab was not fresh. Not fresh at all. Meat was all soggy and soft. Not firm and nice like the other ones I’ve ate in Malaysia. Feedback to staff who acted blur. Anyway they’re using Indonesian crabs, so is that why it’s mushy? 😓 when seafood is the highlight of ur restaurant and you can’t even make it fresh then what’s the point. Most songs sang by the live band were never heard of before, except the last two. To be fair, the singer and band knew how to sing/jam but could have a better choice of songs that were more popular or well known. It was boring and draggy to listen to those songs. So dear fellow Singaporeans, because we noticed lots of Singapore carplate cars here, if you have high expectations because the prices are high by Malaysian standards aka quite similar to SG prices, and expected to be served better quality seafood, don’t waste your time here. Go elsewhere because they won’t acknowledge when there are lapses (deliberate or unknowingly) in their food quality served. For expats living nearby, there’s a good crab restaurant that costs 2 ringgit for delivery (after grabunlimited discount) on Grab, that has never failed to serve fresh crab with really legitimate sauce at a similar price point. If you have issues with freshness Grab will always back you up. Or just try your luck at the other seafood restaurants around Permas area. FYI prices listed at this restaurant do not include service charge and service tax.

First time coming to the seafood restaurant after a renovation. It’s pack on a Sunday evening so best to reserve. We were quite lucky to get the last 2 tables at 6pm via walk in. There’s live music and the vibe is very exciting and people enjoying the food heartily. Let’s get down to what we ordered. 1. Volcanic Chicken paired with vege consommĂ© soup. - a highly visual spectacle dish that requires you to capture the flambĂ©. The staff will remind you to get your camera ready. My suggestion is for you to capture it in slow motion. The roasted chicken had certain parts that were tender but most of it we tough and dry. The drumsticks was hard and our little friends who had it nearly had their teeth pulled out. 2. Chili Sauce Crab - a large one to make one sauce order. Very very spicy but tastes perfect. Crab was meaty, easy to pull out the meat and it goes really well with the buns. If you convert to SGD, it is still cheaper here. Not half price but worth the purchase. 3. Black Pepper Crab - we used to like English Seng’s version but I’d like to say we found the new crown king of black pepper crab - in our hearts. Buttery, nutty and savoury spice give an all round kick to this dish. 4. Deep fried baby squid with honey - usually this dish is darker. But don’t let the light-colour variant scare you. It’s crispy, caramelised with honey and the baby size is bigger than what you get in Singapore. Yummy! 5. Signature fish - we asked for a smaller serving. 800g but it still turns out big! The soup is light and sweet. The fish is fresh out of the tank and it’s as fresh as it can be. Soft, flaky, tender and most of all, not fishy. We also had tou fu and 2 jugs of drinks. RM990 in all.
