Dining at Souqa Pasta recently provided a blend of highs and lows. The restaurant offers a variety of pasta dishes that are generally decent, but with some notable inconsistencies. The cramped space, disappointing beverages, and inconvenient parking make it a place where you might want to lower your expectations and be prepared for a few compromises.
The pasta portion is generous, the fusion pasta is a standout for those who enjoy a spicy kick, delivering a notable heat that some diners might find enjoyable. However, other pasta options fall short. The buttermilk chicken pasta and the prawn salted egg pasta offer unique combinations but fail to impress significantly in terms of flavor depth or execution. Particularly disappointing was the beef carbonara pasta, which was overwhelmingly buttery and lacked the creamy, balanced richness one would expect from a well-made carbonara.
The beverage selection leaves much to be desired. The fruit crushers, priced at RM6-7, were a letdown. They tasted more like canned fruit rather than fresh, which is disappointing given the price.
In terms of the dining environment, Souqa Pasta is quite compact, accommodating within 50 patrons at a time. This small space can make the restaurant feel cramped, particularly during busy times, and might make it difficult to find a comfortable seat without a reservation. Not recommended for wheelchair users.
Three positives aspect of Souqa Pasta, first is the presentation of the dishes. The food is decorated with a thoughtful touch, making each plate visually appealing. Additionally, the generous portions of protein in the dishes are commendable, ensuring that diners get a hearty meal. Another positive note, service at Souqa Pasta is relatively efficient, with a wait time of 15 minutes, indicating a well-organized kitchen. Staffs were polite, attentive and friendly, service...
Read moreWe visited at 3pm. It was closed for break and open back at 3.30pm. This is very annoying bcs how many times they actually have breaks per day?! the last time we came after work around 5.30pm also closed for break until 6.30pm. They need better sop and time management. How inconvenience if people coming here aren't from the area and keep closing for a break. We waited indoor until it was 3.30pm and make order. We ordered Chicken carbonara, chicken alfredo, chicken gigi hadid creamy pasta. All of the food serve in big portion, sturdy plate and cutlery, quite jelak/muak after awhile. Excellent staffs service. Greet with smile and in good mood. Here's review of the food Chicken carbonara spaghetti - friend rate it 6/10. It's creamy but very eggy so it gets muak very easily. Chicken alfredo spaghetti - friend rate it 7/10. It's great but sauce too thick for her liking Chicken gigi hadid creamy pasta - 5/10. Too overpowering with oregano, I feel like I'm just eating tomato based sauce with lots of oregano. Broccoli is hard! Even my fork couldn't even get through it.
Overall with the whole experience, it definitely doesn't feel worth spending here. Probably come here to experience once but not as regular.
Room for improvement -Better time management (pls la tak kan setiap kali datang tutup rehat saja.) -Quite expensive compare to dining experience and taste. I'd suggest maybe can reduce portion to also reduce the price. -Better restaurant environment, this may take time as I know u just moved here -If provide selection of pasta would be so much better and suit with the name of the brand too. Everything in the menu is spaghetti. -Blanching the hard vegetables, my...

Food? Had the Gigi Hadid chicken & seafood. Taste was so-so, broccoli was too raw & hard to even bite. Some chicken chunks were bit undercooked. My friend had the tomyum chicken, tasted too creamy, sweet & not so much on the tomyum taste.
Service? Have to highlight a few. i) Slow is one thing, kuali & blender air ada satu je kot. Like they collect all orders then wait to make a big batch. (Refer picture). Apple drink came first, then strawberry, then lychee & lastly mango. It came one by one at each table the same drink/food. We ordered 4 different drinks, imagine it came at 4 different time. My pasta came first, tp air tak sampai lagi. It should be one table, all the drinks sent out together & not one by one.
ii) ordered 4 pasta, then add on one more for takeaway. So total food should be 5. BUT TAKEAWAY SAMPAI DULU. The waiter didn’t hear our instructions properly & bungkus one of the dish and that’s why it came first. So we cancelled one pasta dish cause it was taking too long.
iii) Manners? Called the waiter & asked where is one of our orders. Boleh pulak he asked us ‘order apa ye?’ And when we said aglio olio he answered ‘ye ke?’ No printed receipt/orders on the table so no one knows what you ordered or what had arrived on your table.
Atmosphere? Was okay. Just the space is a bit tight i think cause tables were too close to each other. You may have to squeeze thru to get to your table.
Drinks menu does not complement the food. The taste just does not sync well. Feels like the effort on drinks was not in their thoughts.
Will not repeat this place. It’s just another...
