Visited in April 23 around 11am. Some crowd here & need to Q for while to get seat. Guess lately this restaurant is went viral due to some foodie Fb page promoted. Tried the nasi briyani chicken - the nasi briyani basically is taste bland. No spice taste & you hv to eat with the curry gravy . Chicken given is curry chicken in which is kinda standard. Come with one hard boiled egg. Believe they are not using only water to do the hard boiled egg because the egg itself you will taste salty, so I believe their put some salt or May b other ingredient into the water to make this hard boiled egg. Overall this nasi briyani not impressive although is their signature. Order masala tosai - so far so good. Pretty standard but not outstanding cause I had better masala tosai at another restaurant . But is still a not too bad option if you craving for masala tosai though the potato filing might taste slight bland. Another signature & many people come to see the sizzling tea where how they pouring the chia tea into the hot clay put cup & making it sizzling effect. every table almost order this sizzling chai tea & videoing it. LoLz .. well, this sizzling chia tea is sweet for me. People who like sweet chai tea, can go for a try. Staffs are quite friendly actually. They hv putting a note in front the restaurant saying they are lacking of manpower & thus service might be slow .. price wise is kinda...
Read moreAn extremely popular southern Indian restaurant, and its common to see a long queue during peak hours.
Owner and staffs are very polite and patient explaining the type of food they offer. However the restaurant is quite warm and its very cramp with tables quite close to each other.
The recommended food to order is definitely the ghee smoked briyani. Please be aware that serving is huge. The smallest serving for this is 2 person sharing portion, but it easily serve up to 4 person, if you have other food from the menu.
Another show stopper is the 3 roses cow milk tea. It comes in hot claypot and waiter will pour the tea into it. The tea boils in the claypot before serving to diners. Definitely a show!
Other recommendation is the murtabak. Thick and flavourful.
However, this is not a restaurant that serves banana leaf rice. It serves various types of briyani.
Overall, highly recommended! Prepare for the queue and another 20 minutes wait for the food to arrive. The taste made the...
Read moreFirst visit to the restaurant this evening. Had the pottalam briyani Chicken 65, Paal Appam, Vadai, Sizzling Tea,& Cauliflower fry. Pottalam Chicken 65 was good with the curry gravy and fresh pickle cucumber. Rice has unique spice flavor . Sizzling tea , was a let down. Lack of tea flavor and no creamy milk taste. Claypot for the tea show, chipped on the edges. Vadai is good , has the fresh shredded coconut taste. Paal Appam is good .. Request to separate the coconut milk . Worry was too sweet. Restaurant looks kind of dark . Appreciate the owner could look into the overall cleanliness and set up in the environment to make it brighter . Staff was wearing hair net . . The TV advertising/ promotional videos, pls remove the segment of hair treatment , nose cleaning . Not ideal for viewing while eating . Hope the next visit , the sizzling tea will...
