this is my favorite community cafe in the whole klang valley, n this is not a simple honor to give 🏆
used to be open until 530, now the owner has extended opening hours till 11 at night, n it opens everyday, manned by the attentive owner for these 2 months!
I've waited until I've accumulated 10 cups for a comprehensive review over the few months I've visited, n I can guarantee the coffee quality remains the same!
the community vibe heals yr soul, cradled by distinct n bright lofi from the speakers. each hello and see u is the shop's very own social door chime. my favorite is the iced cappuccino, as the owner has determined the community's pallette remains our rustic dark roast stemming from our love for hainanese kopi part of our national identity 🇲🇾
as I am predominantly a night time visitor, on noisy nights, we can hear chinese dialects spoken by the community in cantonese, hakka, n hokkien. on cooler quiet nights, the language of the ambience communicates to us the wooden, welcoming nature of the layout of this well thought out interior. in the afternoon, u can peer into the cafe from outside and catch a glimpse of the owner and baristas creating their fine brew from within.
since I've covered the surrounding sensory parts, for taste we can expect a default dark roast with non noticeable sour, n a posh full bodied roast which espresso is extracted at peak timing with generous grams of ground beans.
most notably is the returning visit value of this cafe, as it is cosy, contemplative, conversational, n it's very isolated from the outside environment while keeping it in view with large glass pane windows.
with timely updates in their facebook page, u can get a feel of the presence of this place, reminiscent of what u would get in a sports or social club with some familiar, but friendly towns people. I consider this a truly localised community barista, and I will never stop introducing the shop to new people far and wide. this is not just an optional gathering place, but is the place to go when u plan to bring yrself n others to...
Read morewowww, nothing here tastes bad. was quite skeptical at first because not many people, but its actually because lunch time. it totally exceeded my expectation. the guy that took our order was super patient and kind in explaining everything word by word. aki actually means autumn, which explains the awkward autumn painting here. theres only 4 tables inside, facing a big window of green trees from the nearby park outside. their cake image isnt shown on ig/tagged, so its all up to imagination. their menu sounded boring just by looking at its name, most of them sounded dry/butter/pound cakes. i ordered chocoberry because he said its chocolate and blueberry. but when it came...i was like uwu so cute and pretty. theres a piece of rosemary that actually stains the taste of the cake, wowww....and a solid salty bitter choco cream stripe on top, then u cut through the layers, the blueberries and choco stripe mixed altogether. the cake is soft and the cream doesnt have that buttery smell, its really light and sweet enough. got the matcha strawberry iced latte. i always thought ice in matcha latte will affect the dilution of the drink, but this didnt at all. their strawberry jam is also handmade and high quality, not that sour. also got a strawberry pocky on top. really quaint and quiet place to chill. really...
Read moreAki’s Kohi is one of my favorite cafe to go to for excellent coffee and cozy environment The boss is always so friendly and nice to introduce the coffee bean However today , when I visit the cafe again , the boss is not around and in exchange there’s 3 new staff that I never see before. First of all, they did not introduce the coffee bean. They show me the packaging for the names only. After I order , they sent my croissant to the wrong table , and return to me without apologizing ( the staff only apologized to another staff not the customer lol ) Then is the coffee. When the staff give me the first cup of coffee, he did not say which coffee is this until I ask. We ordered Ethiopia and Costa Rica If you compared the amount of water between these 2 cups of coffee it doesn’t make sense. The coffee is very watery , no aroma , blend , and did not taste well compared to the other times when I visit.
I really like this cafe so I’m going to continue support But I think more training and supervision is needed to maintain the brand and image If this is my first time visit , I don’t think I’m...
