Read good reviews on Google so came here for dinner with the family. Ordered our usual chicken, pork, veg and tofu and the portions were huuggeee. Had the lemongrass fried chicken - although they say it was half chicken, all of the meat was breast meat so it's not half per se. Perhaps what they meant was half chicken worth of portion. Taste-wise it was good, but if you don't like breast meat, give it a miss. The sweet and sour pork was also good, no complains - pork was not full of fat but lean. We thought the spinach we ordered was supposed to be braised with eggs but to our surprise it was fried. Again, no complains as it was quite unique. And finally the hot plate tofu was good too. Personally I prefer soft tofu vs hard/drier ones and this was soft and jiggly. Good amount of minced pork and tastes fresh too.
Update: Came for dinner again second time round and tried some other dishes. Steamed chicken this time (no photo) which came in whole half chicken portion. Pretty standard fare - at least not all breast meat like the previous lemongrass chicken order. Tofu was recommended by the staff taking our order - it was not listed on the menu so we agreed to try. Tofu dish was great, full of taste and very addictinng. Lastly, for the vegetable dish, we tried the claypot kangkung, which was ok and not so different from other...

Read more2.5⭐In the cut-throat business of Chinese eateries, the crowds don't lie. In its heydays, there would be traffic congestion outside the restaurant as drivers dropped off their passengers. The crowd has thinned considerably, to the extent that walk in groups of diners can get a table on peak Saturday night.
The food was rather average. The ice vegetable salad was the pick of the bunch. A good start I thought - but it became rather ordinary very soon after. The kwai fah chi was the next best. The steamed chicken came with a delectable broth but the chicken was a bit too tough. The other 3 (pork tendon, stir fried vege with siu yuk and sou mein - birthday noodles) were bad. The taste was passable but the chef's liberal use of starch in the sauces made the dishes unappetising! It was like eating in a Chinese restaurant in the west in the 70s! The pictures will tell you the story. Not sure if the chef had an off day, but the gooey food will stick in my mind for some time...
