After a 30-minute journey, I arrived at Estelle Bagel, a quaint little café that initially promised a cozy dining experience. However, my expectations were quickly dashed.
I ordered a smoked salmon bagel and a matcha latte.
MATCHA LATTE: The latte arrived first, but to my surprise, it was overly sweet. When I politely requested a replacement without sugar, the staff's response was rather dismissive, suggesting I should have specified my preference in the order. While I understand the importance of clear communication, it's disheartening to encounter such a lack of understanding for a common beverage preference. A complimentary hot green tea was offered, but it felt more like a token gesture than a sincere apology.
SMOKED SALMON BAGEL: The bagel, which I hoped would redeem the experience, was unfortunately underwhelming. The bottom portion was hard and chewy, making it difficult to enjoy. The overall taste was mediocre, and the presentation lacked finesse.
To add insult to injury, when I expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager, they offered cash vouchers as compensation. While this gesture may seem generous, it does little to rectify the poor service and subpar food. Given the significant distance and the overall disappointing experience, I declined the vouchers and have no intention of returning to Estelle Bagel.
To be honest, if the café had simply replaced the sugary matcha latte with a new one, I would have been more understanding. While the bagel was still a disappointment, a simple act of customer service would have significantly improved the overall experience.
Ultimately, my first visit to Estelle Bagel was a disappointing one. The subpar food, coupled with the lackluster service, has left me with no desire to return. I would advise potential customers to exercise caution and consider other...

Ordered 2 bagels. First one came pretty fast, no issue. Second one was the coffee bagel, the guy server brought a tray of 2 bagels (1 coffee, 1 with meat) he was about to put down the meat bagel on our table, I stopped him and said we ordered coffee bagel (the other one on his tray) he didn't seem to understand and just shook his head indicating that coffee bagel wasn't ours. So I requested him to check back with the counter. He left with both the bagels. Saw him put the coffee bagel onto another table.
After awhile still no bagel, I asked the front counter to check. The lady at the counter then went to that same table with the coffee bagel, the table hadn't eaten it, so she took that plate of bagel back to the kitchen (which meant it was wrongly served so long ago), and said to give them another 3mins to serve. Fyi it is stated on menu that coffee bagel need to wait 15mins to prepare. True enough, less than 5mins later, a coffee bagel arrived at my table. Although the lady said it was a new plate of bagel, you can see the cream on top was already flat, melting at the sides and unappetising. It was not fresh like when the guy first brought his tray earlier.
How do you prepare a 15mins bagel (per their menu) in 3mins? Unless that means the same bagel sitting on a stranger's table for way too long is being served to me? The moment the wrongly served bagel went back into the kitchen out of my view, I lost trust in them. There is no possible way for me to be sure that they didn't just serve me a bagel that sat in front of other people while they talked/laughed. For purpose of food hygiene, we couldn't bring ourselves to eat this bagel so we...
Read moreI had a great experience overall. They have a limited selection of bagels, but the ones they offer are well thought out and delicious. I tried their pepperoni bagel, and it was fantastic! The combination of pepperoni, bolognese sauce, and a touch of mayo worked perfectly together. The bagel itself was fresh, just need to add the right balance of chewiness and crispiness then it would be perfect.
I also ordered the buckwheat crepe, and it did not disappoint. The crepe was both crispy and soft, filled with mushrooms and potatoes such a satisfying and flavorful combination. It’s definitely worth trying if you enjoy savory crepes!
As for drinks, they were decent, but I noticed a trend lately where many places serve beverages in smaller cups. I tried their matcha latte, and while the flavor was great rich and earthy but it was a bit too thick for my liking. If they adjusted the consistency slightly, it would be perfect.
The service was excellent the staff was polite, attentive, and very helpful. I truly appreciated their friendly attitude, which added to the positive experience.
The only downside for me was the lighting inside. It was a bit too dark for my taste, which made the atmosphere feel a little dim. However, that’s just a personal preference, and everything else was great.
Overall, this place is worth visiting! The food is delicious, the service is great, and despite the minor issue with the lighting and drink portions, I would still come back to try more items from their menu.
Highly...
