Gerai Roti Canai Mahmud, fondly known as Roti Canai Beratur Gombak, is more than just a place to eat—it is a ritual, a morning pilgrimage for lovers of authentic Malaysian breakfast. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by the aroma of freshly made roti canai sizzling on the hot griddle, blending harmoniously with the inviting scent of rich, coconut-infused nasi lemak.

The roti canai here is legendary, crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy within, paired perfectly with their flavorful dhal and sambal. The nasi lemak, especially when enjoyed with kangkong and ikan keli berlado, is a dish that lingers in memory long after the last bite. Despite the inevitable queue, the service is fast, efficient, and always welcoming—a smile, a warm greeting, a smooth transaction.

The dining space is large, with plenty of tables, making it an excellent spot to chill with family and friends. However, parking can be a challenge, as the place is always buzzing with eager patrons. If you’re in a rush, takeout is an easy option.

Whether you dine in and soak in the lively atmosphere, accompanied by the occasional street busker’s melody, or grab a meal to go, this place never disappoints. The reasonable prices, exceptional flavors, and heartwarming service make it a true gem. A must-visit for roti canai and nasi lemak...

08/12/2021 The roti canai kind of bland and not crispy and I do not know why the guy gave the customer before me all newly made one but gave me those already rest on the plate for quite some times, it's still bit warm but it's a bit hard to chew… seem quality getting worse… luckily the curry/chili sauce still ok. Nasi Lemak also so so.

And I ordered 6 piece of Roti Canai but only realized there were 7 pieces after opened it. I had think of go back and return the RM1.20 but after think twice… feel bit lazy to go out again…

Roti Canai RM1.20 each Nasi Lemak Biasa RM2.00

Hot and crispy roti canai run by Malay, rest ensure your food is always fresh and hot, nothing is pre cooked. Many come for the Dahl which is comparatively sweeter than others Indian stall. Since the Dahl is self service and refillable, it always empty around 10am or even earlier on weekend. My father even could drink one bowl without other food. The stall is on the road side and easy to notice because there will be lots of car parking on the sides. You will need to take a plate and pickup your order. Stray cats and dogs will appear but this is pretty normal in Malaysia. Food choices is not as much as those Indian restaurant, mainly is roti canai and roti telur and nasi lemak with few dishes. Since the food is only cook after ordering, many customised their roti to be even crisper or sliced for children . Again, the Dahl...

Been here 3 times, only got to eat here on one occasion. They description on Google maps wrt the opening times may be wrong. Even when I manage to eat here, they were not serving roti canai but only mixed rice. Maybe I came too late. It was on Monday at 12pm. The 2 times it was close was on a Sunday both at around 9pm. Update: 2 years down the road. Its finally open. Excellent roti canai but they curry us slightly bland and dhal too sweet. Expext a long queue
