What I particularly like about this place is their yellow rice, it’s fragrant and flavourful enough. Their chicken is tender enough, Also, they sprinkle fried garlic bits on their chicken, charsiu or siu yuk when served
The roast chicken, slathered with thin soy sauce, is firm-textured and fresh, the rice fluffy and fragrant but not overly so. This is the working man’s food, and one of the better ones. Accompaniments include char siew, which is sweet and well-textured. It is very good, but, then, many places serve excellent char siew. The accompanying fried garlicky is sweetish and aromatic... ask for no garlic if is not your favourite during order because this comes with default.
A plate of chicken rice, 3 portions of meat and chicken thigh cost RM24 with complimentary soup without service and SST, that's great but not sure after 1st July 2025 how .? 😄
Their signature is CURRY MEE will try next round.. i am for their RM 6.50 chicken rice (breast) , thigh rice for RM 7.50

Read moreWe loved curry mee and laksa mee. This place has adequately good version of both. But I have a serious problem with the way order was taken. There was a lady waiter, she will ask us if we can eat siham (cockles). We can, so naturally we said yes. This then adds RM 3 to our bill, and labelled as "add siham". Mind you her question was wether we can eat cockles or not, not if I want to add cockles to my noodles. Not that RM 3 is a huge sum, but it raises so many ethics questions: your noodles originally comes with cockles or no? If I say I can't eat cockles, then will you reduce RM 3 from my bill? Or will you just not give any cockles? The food served here is ok, good even. I went to eat here many times. But since this issue happened more than once to my bill, I am done and will never visit again, regardless how good your food is. This is not the...
Read moreThe meats-roast pork, char siew and pak cham kai are really good. What I like about this place is the multi option - build your own noodle choices or rice combos. One day you are in for bone broth soup, sure chuck any meat choice combo in and select additional toppings if you are in the mood for, just rice and their meats, or pimp up that rice with the chai boey..up to you. I am always a proponent of Penang curry noodles.. but the curry noodles here with wan than mee noodles and roast pork has stolen my heart or shall I say my stomach love space. It's always indulgent you visit. Portions are great like everything in Setapak. Parking is the problem but if you get a spot, you know the food gods have...
