Update: we’ve returned with our friends 2 days later. I had a better appetite this time around so I tried its lamb chop. It was one of the better chops I’ve had, not just in KL. And the mint sauce was excellent as well. The veggies were fresh and very good, but the mash potatoes had a bit too much butter. The grilled chicken chop was decent, though not outstanding. The service remained very good and we all had a great time. I gave it a 5* despite some of its dishes weren’t that good. Bottom line: try not to get Chinese dishes here.
A very cute place for dinner and drinks. Its menu was extensive that included Chinese, Malay, Indian, European, American and some other places. We’d found this place with the help of Google Maps as we wanted to eat at a place that we don’t have to take a long ride on Grab. It is located a couple of buildings from us hidden in the back of a residential tower.
There was a performer (Thursday only) who was actually decent. I had the Japanese garlic fried rice with fried chicken. The chicken was a piece of split boneless thigh fried to near perfection. The garlic rice was very good as well. My wife’s fried rice noodles was pretty bad. So, we won’t be ordering Chinese food from this place. We also got a 3-ounce Haagen Dazs ice cream for RM$19, a bit of...
Read moreMy family and I are regular patrons of Hubba, now it’s cald Lafayette due to its convenient location. However lately we noticed the taste of the food prepared has been inconsistent. There are times the food was exceptionally good but mostly particularly on Sundays, the taste and quality have been disappointing. And we would like to highlight the food menu has not been changed for a quite awhile. However the recent “revamped” menu hasn’t changed much as we had hoped for. Similar food but being cooked in 4 different ways i.e salmon cooked with Hubba sauce then the same salmon cooked with lemon sauce or/and teriyaki sauce. It would have been better to incorporate other type of fish onto the menu instead of merely salmon. And the same with the pasta selection, it’s either salmon aglio olio or chicken aglio olio. They are all the same food selection but being played around with different meats. Hubba/Lafayette should be more creative in its food selections particularly local food. There are other local varieties to consider like curry laksa, chicken varuval, rojak/pasembur and etc. You can be assured of our continued patronage but at the same time some serious changes to the menu would be...
Read moreOnly knowing that it is a branch brand under the Souled Out Group after the visit. The superb vibe and superb food make my day. There is a great choice of foods and beverages, be it Asian, Western, or Italian cuisine.
Ordered a pizza since I dreamed of having a pizza last night =) Difficulty in choosing which flavor to order; the waiter recommended the BBQ and Pepperoni; while we ordered a Hawaiian instead
