Yue Kitchen 悦厨 — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

The food isn't anything special nor worth eating twice. The fried rice is too heavy on taste and saltiness, and the use of one gigantic unshelled prawn as an ingredient in it instead of many smaller shrimp makes it annoyingly difficult to eat with just a spoon, and seems like a misplaced conceit on the chef's part as if they were serving some high-class dish.

A few hours after eating the cendol, my family member who ate it started vomiting in the toilet at home, I suspect not fresh? She had fried rice and cendol lunch at Udang King and nothing else that day, so I can't think of any other cause than the food itself. The kitchen also takes too much time cooking, whether you dine-in or get GrabFood, it's all too slow compared to other restaurants (We ordered Grab food from them before to try, but it's not consistent in punctuality, and that's not the fault of the deliverer). Overall, I'm surprised this place is still running despite all its problems. It certainly doesn't deserve to call itself the king...

I’ve been visiting this restaurant for years, it was my late uncle’s favourite so we’ve made it a point even during the MCO to order from them and give them business. Decided to visit after they’d moved to their new venue at Seni MK to treat the kids to dinner.

Sadly to say, never again.

40 minutes after ordering and no food. Asked once, lady didn’t even come back. Asked another lady, also no reply just that they’d check. Neither had the decency to explain why they were running late or what was happening with the food. Started avoiding eye contact and feeling like we were second grade customers.

We ordered fried rice for the kids, even some spring rolls - one of those could have come out first at least to feed the little ones. Nothing. In the end we asked for the food to be packed for takeaway.

Never again. Service was 100 times better at the last location, and if I want to order their food I might as well Grab it. That is, if I can get over this...
