Legendary Char Siew, Since 1982 nuff’ said! Nothing beats old school. If they can survive for that long .. they must be doing something right. They even have a notice asking you to queue to avoid quarreling. They even serve side dishes.. near the soup counter. Ordered charsiew for 2, roasted chicken, poached chicken rice.
Char Siew - nice.. very nice. Unfortunately he mixed lean meat (💔) and fat meat (❤️) lean meat’s texture is like tree bark. It gets stuck in between your teeth. The fat ones.. melts in your mouth. There are bits and chunks of charred bits that I like, crunchy and tasty. A tad on the sweeter side.
Roasted chicken rice - ok la but the rice is fragrant.. I like.
Poached chicken - nicer than roasted version. Something and fresh. Soup is self service, too bland for my liking.
Place is without AC but it don’t feel hot at all. Not 1 bit. Parking is a nightmare. Be prepared to walk. Service can go both ways 😁 depending on how busy they are. Now it’s the 2nd generation but they manage to maintain the quality. Kudos!
Not cheap though. But they’re not famous for that. All of the above and 4 iced Chinese...

Read moreChar siew place this one. Nestled in the heart of Salak South, Tian Hong sees a queue of people during lunch time and quite a packed dining area during peak periods.
Parking is not easy to find, but if you're patient, you'll probably get one. Otherwise, illegal parking is another option, especially if you're just taking away.
The simple, typical kopitiam setting greets you with just enough sitting for about 30 pax. Service is fast and efficient, and before long, you'll be tucking into the roast meats and rice.
The char siew is very juicy and goes perfectly with the rice. The sweet sauce that covers the meats are also a winner, and in fact, is charged if you ask for some more! The siew yoke is also very good here. Perfectly balanced saltiness and five spice lace the juicy pieces of meat without being overpowering.
