Hotel MinCott is one of those budget hotels that exceeds the category. We chose the hotel for it's proximity to where we needed to be in Kuala Lumpur. If you're looking for an affordable, no-frills place to stay slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this should be right up your alley.||||No issues checking in even though we arrived in the wee hours of the morning. We stayed in a family room that was clean and very spacious even with a queen and single bed. The room though could use some refurbishment. Particularly off-putting were the cigarette burns on the bathroom sinks left by other irresponsible guests. The staff makes up for it though by keeping the room refreshed every night. Speaking of which, they were always very friendly and tried to help as much as they can with our needs and inquiries.||||There's a "mamak teh" at the end of the block that was good for traditional Malaysian breakfast or quick late night bites. Also a big supermarket nearby and shoplots within walking distance with various "kopi tiams" if you're looking for more food variety.||||Fair warning, though. The hotel doesn't have direct access from the main road or nearby highway. The ground floor lobby is on an inner road between two shoplot blocks, accessed by going first through a parking ticket gate. A certain GPS program that-will-not-be-named will also probably lead you the wrong way if you're not familiar with the area. Parking, though, is free which is great as you or your friends will probably be driving in.||||All in all, we had a pleasant stay here and would definitely come back here if we need to be back...

We requested 2 more extra pillow and staff are prompt to our requests.||||Room is decent and clean with safebox, mini fridge, flatscreen tv, hot water, coffee etc.||||The housekeeping made up our room nicely and replaced new towels when we are back frm our breakfast at about 2pm.||||There are 2 separate toilets in our room. 1 bathroom & 1 toilet.||||You can park your car there with a peace of mind as there are 24hrs security guard & tight cctv around.||||Room doesnt include breakfast but u can get your breakfast/ lunch/ dinner at a mamak stall nearby located at the end of the hotel building. Its quite expensive compared to other similar stall in KL though and to be honest the food is not really nice especially...
Read moreThe lobby of the hotel is nice for a 2-star rating. I stayed in a Superior Room, which was clean overall. The toilet was spacious for a budget hotel, but the drainage design was poor, causing flooding since the drain cover was only in the shower area. The water heater was not functioning, and the soundproofing was inadequate; I could hear conversations in the hallway. Housekeeping knocked at 9:30 AM and asked us if we wanted housekeeping so we denied it around three times verbally and not opening the door. Staff was not happy that we did not open the door and said in Malay language that, "like that also cannot open the door". The room phone didn’t work, and there was no refrigerator despite it being listed. You can request a hairdryer at the front desk. On the plus side, the hotel’s location is great, with cafes and mamaks nearby, and there's ample free parking for guests which can be validated. This hotel is suitable for short trips if you’re looking for a...
