Came here to try various offerings, personal review as below:
ABC (Ice kacang) = 3.5 / 5 Various Tong Shui = 3 / 5 Mixed Fruit Shaved Ice = 4.5 / 5 Yam Taro Shaved Ice = 4.5 / 5
The store offers many options, but shaved ice offerings are their signature basically.
ABC was tad bit underwhelming, wasn't fragrant enough and lacking something but the serving was generous. Great for sharing!
Tried Malt Porridge (Mak Chuk) tong shui and Black Glutinous Rice tong shui (added glutinous rice ball / tang yuen), both were average and not hot enough. Definitely not their forte but just having something for everyone. Tang yuen has peanut filling and acceptable in sizing.
Mixed Fruit shaved ice seems to be one of their signatures, and it deservedly is. Huge serving with generous fresh fruit cubes of variety, they all come together with the compressed shaved ice to form the perfect fruity dessert experience. Definitely must try!
Yam Taro shaved ice is something rare to find and even rarer to have one of such taste and quality. Don't be fooled by its appearance, because one taste and you're hooked! No awkward, unnatural, fake tasting and overly sweet Yam syrup can be found here, but generous and sizeable chunks of Yam Taro to go with the shaved ice. For the high price, it's definitely worth it if you're looking for something different! Comes with cendol too.
Note that starting 1st May 2022, prices have been revised due to the present inflation situation resulting in high...
Read moreI purposely wanted to visit this place because as a taro fan, I just had to try the taro ice kacang after seeing how it got my attention from the social media reels. Visited on a weekend, took the MRT and walked to the shop. The walk isn't long but was really very hot so having this dessert was ideal. It looked like a stall in a coffeeshop or sort with another few stalls selling food. It wasn't crowded and I sat down I could see the picture of the taro ice kacang blown up and displayed in front of the stall. Ordered one and didn't take long for them to whip up the dessert. When it was served, first look the taro sauce looked kinda glossy. It looked fake to me for a while. Upon trying, there was a tinge of yam taste and I was glad it might look sweet and sinful but it's not. Colouring looks artificial as well, but eventually managed to eat some chunky yam. The ice was quite plain, had some colour which looks like condensed milk but didn't taste sweet at all. Overall it was still enjoyable, though I had higher expectations of it and expected to taste more yam and sweetness. Price wise for 11RM I thought it was still considered reasonable though some may say its lacking in ingredients. I didn't like it nor hate it but it was good I managed to get a decent looking and tasting...

My recent dinner at 肥仔文 was a mixed bag, but one thing truly stood out: their incredible ice blended desserts! The food arrived remarkably fast, which was a definite plus. While some of the dishes on the dinner menu felt a little expensive for the normal portion sizes, the real star of the show was the awesomely huge and generous ice blended.
Seriously, when they say generous, they mean it! My yam, mango, and red bean ice was a mountain of icy goodness, packed with a delightful amount of each ingredient. The flavors were fantastic, and it was the perfect sweet treat to end the meal. A word of advice: definitely request for your ice blended to be served after your meal! It's so substantial that having it beforehand would likely leave you feeling incredibly full. Trust me on this!
The classic Ice Kacang was priced at RM9 per bowl, which seemed reasonable. Our total dinner bill came to RM120. While the main dishes might not be the main draw based on price and portion, the ice blended at 肥仔文 is an absolute must-try. The sheer size and generous ingredients make it a standout and a fantastic way to cool down after a meal. I'll definitely be back for that...
