First up, the place is simple and itâs self service from placing your order in a piece of paper and paying at the counter . Menu was decent Thai food like Tom yam Noodles and a selection of western pastas like Aglio Olio etc. We ordered the Tom yam soup Mama noodles with pork meat balls and a bowl of smoked duck slices on dry Mama noodles. We also had 2 drinks - lemon grass juice and Thai milk tea. Total bill - Rm37.60. Person at counter wasnât friendly and looked absolutely âzonkedâ and as if âwhy am I working tonightâ sort of a face.
FineâŠwe then waited for our food 10 mins and not too long after the Tom yam noodles arrived. It was tasty and had thick milky soup base, however the soup was warm and not hot. The noodles was âal denteâ.
I waited next for my duck sliced noodles and it never came after 10 mins ⊠waited and waitedâŠ. Till we called them out , first was a young lady who spoke in Mandarin and she answered,â itâs cookingâ, Ok fineâŠmy wife and daughter then asked another male staff, he repeated what the young lady said âitâs cookingâ! (I mean heâs not wrong factually as if they are not then itâs just plain stupid but cooking after 15 mins or more after the tom yum noodles arrived for a simple Mama noodles, câmon! (Btw, there wasn't even a crowd, only 3 extra tables that sat after we arrived 10 mins earlier and to make it worse, one table had their food served before us!)
Waited âŠwaited again and called out to the staff who we met at the counter and his attitude was outstanding - he donât even want to respond to us at all! Well done!
Maybe itâs unfortunate for us we were there at the wrong time when they had a âbadâ day. I hope they will read this and improve on their performance...
Read moreThe most delicious Tomyam Mama in Malaysia we tried at the moment. Tasty and creamy. Their Thai Milk tea and lemongrass tea also not bad. You may try their pasta and Thai duck noodle. They are using Japanese style to cook the duck. Love the duck slices. Really yummy. For the Tomyam mama, my husband always have it as supper every week. Sometime twice to third times per week. Need to using tol to reach there but he donât care. Then you can see how delicious the noodles is and how crazy is my husband. Lol~ anyhow, really recommended even though we brought our Thailand friends come to have a try. They will eat few small bowls. They said never tried so delicious Tomyam in Chiangmai. We had been there more than 15 times until we know their boss. Their bosses are very young. Right now they have another branch at Cheras. You may try it when you are staying at...
Read moreThai style mama noodles similar to Jeh-O in Bangkok but this version is more localised. Ordered the Mama noodles deluxe for 2pax and the salmon carpaccio. Felt that the use of salmon is a bit wasteful as salmon itself is already a rich flavour dish. By making a carpaccio out of the salmon, the flavour of the fish and the sauce is a little clashing. Also the salmon cut is a little too thick for this type of dish. The mama noodles are alright but felt that the flavours should be a little sharper. The flavours here are a bit localised to chinese style. As the stall is not too big, there is usually a 15-20 mins wait for a table. Not a place to linger for a good chit chat with the mates as table turnover is fast. They will clear your table once you're done. That's the cue for you to get going. All in all it's quite okay. Give it a try if you're...
