Overall 4.5⭐. Why would one of the best and busiest Hunan/Sichuan restaurants in the Klang Valley resort to inducing customers with free food in exchange for favourable Google reviews? Sigh.... (anyway, this review is bribe-free as we turned away their offer) Push open the doors of the restaurant and you will be enticed by the typical smell of Sichuan restaurants - that 'acquired' mala smell. Service was brisk and attentive as we were early. The restaurant filled up by 7pm on Saturday night and booking is highly recommended. The taro fish soup was the show stopper: the soup was milky, naturally sweet and came with big pieces of fried fish (siakap in our case) and fried yam. They offer refills of soup too. Everything else hit the right notes: the morsels of chicken in spicy chicken were large (and not dry); the spicy lotus root had the right amount of mala-ness and had texture from the lotus and peanuts; the skewered lamb perfectly seasoned and again, not too dry; and fried cabbage had enough umami from the slices of pork belly and lard. The laggard dish was the mah po tofu which was average. I guess the level of mala-ness was toned down to cater to the Malaysian palate. But I found the food very tasty and I didn't suffer from MSG-overload-thirst after the meal.

I recently visited a Chinese restaurant in Kepong that has been generating a lot of hype. Despite the full house, the service was fast, which is always a plus when dining out. The menu offered a variety of dishes. While the taste was good, I must say that it wasn't very authentic Chinese. However, the portion sizes were generous for the price, making it a good value proposition. I appreciated the lucky draw for free skewers, which added an element of excitement to the dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was decent, with a modern Chinese decor and seating that could accommodate large groups. However, the star of the show was definitely the food. The Szechuan Grilled Fish was good, with the right balance of spice and flavor. The spicy chicken was also delicious, although it is not Chinese authentic taste. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for those looking to try some tasty Chinese cuisine without breaking the bank. While the taste may not be entirely authentic, it is still a good place to eat with efficient service, generous portions, and some standout dishes.

This was a truly delightful dining experience. From the ambiance to the dishes, everything reflected the restaurant’s commitment to quality. First and foremost, the food was absolutely delicious. The pickled fish soup was bright and flavorful, with tender fish slices and a perfect balance of sour and spicy notes—impossible to stop eating. The dry pot dish was fragrant and crisp, loaded with peanuts and dried chilies that packed a punch. The stir-fried green beans were cooked just right, keeping their fresh, crunchy texture. And the crispy chicken sprinkled with flavorful seasoning was golden on the outside and juicy inside—an absolute hit with our bowls of rice. The tea was served promptly, and the staff were attentive and friendly, making the entire meal relaxing and enjoyable. Sitting around a round table with friends, chatting and sharing food, created the perfect atmosphere for a great gathering. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Sichuan or Chinese cuisine—you won’t be disappointed. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I recently visited LuckyPot Kepong with a group of 14, and while the food was quite good, the overall experience left much to be desired. We ordered a variety of dishes, including 酸菜鱼 (Sour Fish Soup), 辣子鸡 (Spicy Chicken), 手撕包菜 (Stir-Fried Cabbage), and 土豆丝 (Shredded Potatoes), among others. Each dish was well-prepared and flavorful, and we were particularly impressed with the authentic taste. However, what dampened the experience was the way the management handled our group. The female manager was quite insistent that each of us leave a Google review, which was tied to receiving desserts, two desserts for every review. This felt unnecessarily pushy and made the dining experience less enjoyable. While I understand the importance of reviews for a business, it shouldn’t come at the cost of customer comfort. In summary, while the food at LuckyPot Kepong is worth trying, the overly calculative approach to reviews was off-putting. A more relaxed and customer-friendly attitude would certainly improve the dining experience.

I think the consumer deserves to know the truth that the shop encourages you to give them a five-star review and in return they will give you some small snacks for free. Hence, all the reviews you see here may not be their true and sincere opinion of this restaurant. Food was alright although it is not outstanding. The queue was kinda long and long waiting time despite the apparent quick speed of the waiter. The price is rather expensive. The vege I've ordered costed RM 48!!! For God's sake! It is even more expensive than the fish which is costing at RM45! Also, I've explicitly mention my fried man tou was to be served after meal. It is however the first dish that they have served to us. Overall the food was not bad but the price is on the high side. My bad review aims particularly on the price and their actions to ask you to give 5 star rating for some free stuffs in return. Although it is not forceful actions but that also means people on the Internet would have thought all the reviews here are truthful.

I was craving for authentic Chinese food and this place did not disappoint. Sure, it's not cooked exactly like how they do it in China (there is way less oil for example, which is a plus in my book). Still, it tasted almost identical to the real deal and we have no complaints in the taste department. A little pricy but comparable to similar restaurants in the area. We had less than an hour to dine since they were fully booked for dinner, which wasn't an issue since all dishes were served within minutes. While we're pleased with the food, the vibe was a different story. Our dining experience was ruined by a very loud Karen who was clearly audible despite being several tables away. Speaking of tables, there's not much gap between them which means you're very likely to hear every conversation around you and people from different tables are likely to bump into each other. There is AC though which is always a plus when you're having spicy, delicious Chinese food.
