Update after 2nd visit on 30 August. As suggested to me in my 1st visit, I ordered the tomato kway teow (with fear because I don't like things with tomato sauce) and the porridge. The kway teow had plenty of wok hei, food was nicely arranged. It was pleasant but not my kind of thing but can understand why Sarawakians brought up on this would go gaga over this. The porridge was amazing - it retained the old school feel, the fried shallots and chopped spring onions added fragrance, and the minced pork balls nicely marinated. It was a little bit under salted but a few drops of soy sauce did the trick. I shall be back again to work through the menu.
1st review: Rating of 4.8? Yes, this place certainly lives up to its billing.
Walked into the restaurant and I was greeted by this lady with a big smile. I later found out that this lady - Sally, a Sarawakian - runs the restaurant with her husband.
In my opinion, this is the best all-in-one restaurant that serves Sarawak food. Two of the dishes that I tried were the best in class - the Sarawak laksa and kolo mee. The Sarawak laksa broth was beautifully spiced and had plenty of depth. Sally convinced me that I had to have the red sauce on my kolo mee and assured me it was not sweet. And it wasn't. Loved the texture of the kolo mee and the sauce (with jewels of lard). I took away the kolo mee fried with manicai. It was fried to perfection - dry with plenty of umami from the har bee. I am sold, even though it was my first time trying this Sarawakian dish. The only dish I found average was the kiaw, pork wantan. Even though the texture of skin was right, the filling was a bit too porky for me.
Sally advised me to try the tomato noodles and porridge too. Next time then! Can't wait to come back again. It is...
Read moreI’ve officially become a regular at this place, dropping by at least once a week. At this point, I’ve probably tried almost everything on the menu.
The food? Absolutely top-notch. You can taste the chef’s heart and soul in every bite—fresh ingredients and flavors that hit just right. Anything stir-fried? Full-on wok hei magic. My all-time favorites? The laksa (hands down the closest to authentic Kuching-style I’ve had in Semenanjung) curry chicken rice, wonton soup, black bean soup, tomato fried noodles, Teochew porridge and their onion omelette (a next-level, fancy cousin of your average onion omelette). And don’t get me started on their handmade weekend-only kuih—absolute GOLD.
On the drinks side, their iced mango tea, kamquat tea,ha gu cou and kopi are my go-to picks. Oh, and the toast? It’s a must-have every single time. You can also tell the ingredients they use are fresh and the seasonings are pretty healthy—I’ve never felt parched after a meal here.
The vibes in the shop are great too. They switch up the décor for different festivals. The music is always on point, the staff are super friendly. And let’s be real—the lady boss‘s customer service is the real star of the show. Honestly, I’m just grateful this gem exists in Kepong—it’s a blessing for all of...

If you are a fans of Sarawak local foods, look no further than this restaurant. Been searching for an authentic yet delicious Sarawak food in KL for a long time, and I can proudly say I have finally found it here.
The warmth greetings, and friendliness of the owner is something that keeps me from coming back other than the foods they served. This is my every Sunday breakfast choice.
For me, I love their tomato Mee served with crispy well-fried kolo Mee with the broth that’s just savoury and tasty. Not too sweet nor sour. This simple plate of delicacy is something you wouldn’t regret.
My family love their Sarawak Laksa, which is so authentic and the broths is filled with herbs and spices, with a little touch of coconut milk. Comes with 2 huge prawns.
Lastly, Kolo Mee is something you couldn’t missed when we discuss about Sarawak food. The bowl of noodles fused with all the flavour and surprises. Their noodles are springy and just right which you can choose different types of sauce: white vinegar, black etc…
Before you left, let’s not forget about their glass of coffee. The unique aroma of the Sarawak-origin coffee beans is something I really love.
Highly...
