Visited on May 23, weekday dinner time. Quite a full house, as I see on weekday dinner time. Service-wise, it can be improved, as the staff there don’t seem to know how to recommend the dish portion. And different people have different suggestions, too. Ask them to suggest crabs. Ended coconut juice crab (signature crab) & 咸濕蟹 have been ordered, but the taste is almost similar. They suggest coconut juice is good, but when asking another one what about salted eggs, they said this is a dry one and not suitable if you want to dip mantou. Ended ordering coconut juice crab & 咸濕蟹. Both have gravy and taste similar, where coconut juice crab tasting slightly more spicy than the salted egg crab. Seriously, the staff could not provide a proper recommendation. In my opinion, among these 2 flavours, either one will do. Salt & pepper sotong - this is nice. Three throttles - not very recommendable; felt lacking. Kampung chicken - average, the garlic sauce is quite nice & appetising. Macadamia lotus root - taste-wise, is lacking. Belacan petai fried prawn ball - not bad still. Fried shrimp chilli fried intestine - taste lacking, actually. Crab - coconut juice, & 咸濕蟹 - actually not bad, but crab takes longer to cook in fact. Overall, certain dishes are not bad, but some might not be so good. Well, it's very subjective, depending on everyone's taste buds and...

For many years I have heard about the famous "Sai Gong" (Cantonese) in Kepong, and while I had gone to the one in Bandar Menjalara (which is closed permanently), I had not gone to the one in Taman Seri Kepong Baru. That is, until I was invited for dinner here.
Taking over 3 shoplots, it was already packed despite arriving shortly before 6pm on Sunday. However, they were quite efficient and dishes were served within expected time frame. Thankfully, all of them were quite tasty.
◾deep fried mantis shrimp with oat - lovely and crunchy mantis shrimp covered with oat made a lovely snack. ◾dong po yuk - gotta love the deep fried mantao wiping off the sweet & savoury sauce after finishing the tender pork belly. ◾curry fish head - while everyone loved the curry, I couldn't help but to compare it to my favourite Woo Ng Kee. I still prefer the one in Taman Ehsan. ◾braised beancurd with minced meat & mushroom is something that the kids liked. ◾Chinese steamed egg - a safe choice of protein for everyone. ◾stir fried nai bak with mushroom ◾stir fried sweet potato leaves
While I saw many tables happily tucking into heavenly looking crab and steamed fish or even big prawns & wanted to order those delectable dishes, it was a treat from a relative so I'd probably order...
Read moreCame by for dinner on a Sunday, made reservations for 6pm. No mention of anything on the call but found out weird things on the day itself.
Arrived promptly before 6 and was directed upstairs. Service from the get go was off. Asking us what our tables were but we were directed upstairs to follow the little girl. Small matter. People behind the counter didn't seem very friendly. Tried to order a couple of things but they weren't available - pork stomach soup, lala soup. Wanted to get the crab baked rice but only found out then we needed to pre-order it. What's the point of putting it in the menu??
Apparently dining only from 6-7.30pm ok fair, but again no mention when making reservation. After finishing our first round of food, wanted to get crab but they glanced at the clock and said it would take 30-40 mins and we would have to give our table back by 7.30.
Brief mention of the food - Kung po mantis prawn was good, Salted egg sotong was good, had the half chicken which I enjoyed too. Asked for the chicken rice chilli they said they only have the har jeong... when it came out it was chicken rice chilli...........
Not my first time here but possibly my last. Whats the point of having an extensive menu if so many things are not available? and the...
