I haven't visited the place in 8 years and maybe it was just me but this place had gone way way downhill. We came on a PACKED Saturday morning. I was joyful to see such crowds as it speaks to the quality of the food.
Service is what you might expect from a place this busy which is non existent. We had a busy morning so once we got a chance we quickly ordered 2 dosa and a roti sardin. In less than 3 minutes a dosa was sent to our table before our drinks even got here.
First the dosa was fresh and crispy which I can't complain about since I wasn't a fan of dosa. 5 minutes later they bought over the sauces to go with the dosa only to yell at us for taking someone else's dosa like we knew it belonged to someone else.
Then come out drinks 2 teh tarik less sweet and 1 teh halia. The tea just by looking at it I knew it was water with condensed milk and not tea but I still tried it. All three of us took a sip and we all agreed there was no tea in any of this tea. All I taste in mine was condensed milk even though we asked for less sweet. They literally screwed up every aspect of the tea.
After being disappointed I lowered my expectations considerably for my roti sardin but even then I was still disappointed. The only saving grace about the roti is just the fact that it was still hot and crispy. The sardine was virtually non-existent as I needed to surgically open up the entire roti to make sure I got the right order. After that they didn't even bring over any curry to dip my roti in.
I will return once more for dinner and hopefully it will be different as I had many fond memories of the place back when I was in middle School. This is also the only reason for the second star...
Read moreLast week, my family and I had breakfast at Kxnna Curry House restaurant opposite DPC Medical Centre. Just when we were about to pay and leave, my dad accidentally slipped due to negligence from the restaurant's staffs. There was a lot of water on the ground, and then there was no warning signage to block off the wet portion of the floor. This caused my dad to accidentally slip, fall onto the ground and suffered injuries as shown in the photos (internal bleeding at both the left ankle & left calf plus a sprained ankle). It took him 20 minutes just to slowly get up and sit down on a chair but he is far from able to walk. This horrible incident really scared us to death as my dad had previously suffered injury to the spine! The waiters in the restaurant saw the whole incident, not only did they ignored us, but they continued with serving other customers and did not offer any sort of help! 🙄🙄🙄The most annoying thing is that when we confronted the manager, he did not apologize sincerely, but also did not offer any help as well😒He just told us that there were not enough staff in the store🤯🤯. We felt that having insufficient manpower is not an acceptable reason for not maintaining the condition of the restaurant which may lead to injuries upon customers. We chose not to waste any further time speaking with the manager and rushed my dad to the ER. Fortunately, there were no major injuries however just to be safe, my dad was advised to follow up with Orthopedic specialist on the following week. I strongly urge everyone to be careful and also think twice if you consider dining in at this restaurant managed by irresponsible...
Read moreA Wonderful Dining Experience at Kanna Curry House, Menjalara
My recent visit to Kanna Curry House in Menjalara with my Australian friend was an exceptional dining experience. The moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the inviting aroma of authentic Malaysian and South Indian cuisine, setting the stage for a delightful meal.
We decided to indulge in their famous Banana Leaf Rice, and it exceeded our expectations. The variety of curries, vegetables, and accompaniments served on a banana leaf was a feast for the senses. Each dish was packed with rich, vibrant flavors that perfectly captured the essence of traditional recipes.
My friend was particularly impressed with the Chicken Varuval and Fish Curry. The chicken was tender and flavorful, while the fish curry had a perfect blend of spices that made it incredibly delicious. The Rasam, a traditional South Indian soup, added a refreshing and tangy note to the meal, complementing the other dishes beautifully.
The staff at Kanna Curry House were friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a satisfying dining experience. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home.
My Australian friend thoroughly enjoyed the meal and was delighted by the authentic taste and variety of dishes.
