Okay hear me out, when I saw the reviews I was like okay I shouldn’t be judgemental about the place maybe not to many people’s liking doesn’t mean it’s bad and decided to give it a shot..
They have hidden talent which they should keep it hidden lol Food was meh to be honest. I didn’t feel it was authentic Thai, tasted better Thai food.
Steam squid was just purely sour and no other taste, order their glass noodles salad it tasted somehow same that’s what showed that they use same lime sauce.
Food wasn’t spicy. Tomyum was mid, it will be a wow presentation for many as they serve in claypot and that’s about it but one thing have to be honest la. I don’t take fish but when I went there their fish was really good and I ate without complaining anything. Seafood was fresh, I’ll give them that.
Took the stir fry vegetables which I think anyone can make nothing special, funny how only the vegetables was a huge portion for every RM30 dish they charge the rest were all small, cause when they vege came first we were like “wow this is not bad, small but portion damn big” but kene tipu lmaoo
And my boyfriend had the century egg with Pad krapow, it was not tasty at all. Just a normal pad kra pow and fried the century egg mix it together.
Rice portion was super small maybe a kid portion.
I paid RM180 for 3.5/10 food I guess I’d been satisfied if I had Shin Ramyun with fish cakes. So if you have money blow be smart about where to blow your money, don’t come here cause of the hype, trust me.
I would’ve paid same price for Baan Thai in Bukit Bintang for super authentic food but less food yet fulfilling taste. Seriously I was so upset as I am obsessed with Thai food and this was just a let down and we both ended up...
Read moreHad dinner at Yee Wen Thai Food Restaurant in Kepong, and overall, the food was excellent and reasonably priced.
The steamed fish was incredibly fresh and flavorful, while the omelette was perfectly cooked and tasty. The baku vegetable is a must-order—simple yet so good! The pandan chicken came in big, juicy pieces, and the pandan water by the jar (just RM7 with unlimited refills) was refreshing and a great deal.
However, the atmosphere could be improved as it was quite hot, and there were mosquitoes, which made it a bit uncomfortable. The wait time during peak hours was about 40 minutes, so plan accordingly if you’re visiting in the evening.
One downside is that the boss wasn’t particularly friendly when taking orders, which could put off some customers. Additionally, the restaurant is located higher level then then street level, so it’s not elderly-friendly due to the staircase.
If you’re looking for good Thai food at reasonable prices and don’t mind the heat or stairs, Yee Wen is worth a try. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait...
Read moreWaiting time to be seated was very long bcz of the long queue. Food came very late and we only ordered 2 dishes. Served us the 2 dishes but without rice. Need to remind them to serve us rice as well. They even forgot about our beverage. After reminded them, immediately they made us one. Otherwise, you will have nothing to drink.
Portion quite small. 1 big bowl rice is equal to Chinese restaurant 1 small bowl rice . Tom yum red soup medium sized is like small sized. Little amount of ingredients. 3 medium sized prawns and few small pieces of sotong and very small pieces of fish chunk.
The taste of the Tom yum red soup n fried sotong were very normal. Nothing special but for the same price they charged I could have eaten better tasting Thai food which I have tried before in Thai tuk tuk Solaris dutamas n was almost the same price. The Thai milk not recommended to drink here as it was super normal n I tasted much better ones at thai tuk tuk Solaris dutamas n genting (kopitiam milk tea...
