Secret Recipe — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Ambience is nice but the waitress in a spectacle was evidently grumpy from the moment she saw us outside. We’d be more considerate if the place is packed but it wasn’t and we’re not sure why we were greeted by that type of service. Plain rude. Another staff took our order but we were served with the same type of service - unhappy / rude / couldn’t care less. When serving our food, the first staff legit throw our food on the table - interesting way to serve customers. We told the staff taking our order that we wanted the dessert to be served after meal - guess what? They served us while we were eating saying that “they’ve already made the order” so are we expected to eat the dessert with melted ice cream and soggy cake? We wonder how it is possible for one to KNOW that we wanted the dessert after meal and STILL served it to us on the basis that it was made. Appreciative of the branch manager for yelling “please come again” cheerfully each time a customer walks out but ironically, with this kind of service, we can’t be sure how to...

The chocolate moist cake slice was very dry and crumbly, not worth to order, Secret Recipe need to relook into its chocolate moist cake and enhanced it. Service was fine, staff where prompt to meet our requests. Sitting and interior design is fine. However, we were disappointed to see the washroom. For a reputable company like Secret Recipe, the washroom area was not well set and maintained. Firstly, only one out of two washroom was useable because one of it was faulty. Secondly, there was no hand soap provided in the washroom sink area, instead there was only a empty soap bottle filled with just water. Though it's may seem like a small matter, but it is important in my point of view, because this reflects whether hygiene matters are handled seriously. How would the Secret Recipe staff or customers wash hands after using the washroom? This could cause unnecessary health issues. Hope the management would...

I’ve been to other branches before, and the food was great. So, I thought I’d enjoy the food at this branch today. However, I’m extremely disappointed. I ordered the Aglio Olio with crispy beef strips, but the beef strips weren’t crispy at all. They were soggy and coated with a mushy batter—absolutely disgusting, like something hastily steamed as an afterthought. Does the chef even taste the food they make?

On top of that, the side dish that came with the meal, keropok, was stale and soft.

I came here on a holiday, and since there’s no set lunch, the prices are higher than usual. I wouldn’t mind paying more if the food was good, but this was truly disappointing. The burnt cheesecake I ordered was also terrible (though I’ve never had it before, so I’m not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to taste).
