Stylish English themed cricket pub/bar/restaurant in the upmarket plaza Damansara area with lots of higher end restaurants, pubs and cafes all about. Not many places like this in Malaysia obviously so it's a bit of a mecca for expats usually British, Australian or Indian especially If they're cricket fans - live cricket is usually being shown.
Service is usually excellent, efficient and polite a little British in style so fairy reserved. Impressive range of drinks - beers, spirits, wine and unusual cocktails also with a cricket theme. There's a very happy happy hour I think everyday but Sunday from 12-7pm which represents excellent value for money around 14rm for single shot and mixer. Food is also surprisingly very good - I especially like the Cullen skink.
There's no doubt it can be pricey if you want it to be especially If you get cocktails but you can still have a good time without spending too much if you want. Parking is pretty mad in this area almost all the time but probably find something somewhere eventually but probably...
Read moreThe Sticky Wicket has that good old English pub style ambiance. The service is quite good, and the quality of the food is very good. It is on the pricier end, though the portion can be quite small. I had the Scotch egg, which came with a hash brown and salad for RM28. My partner had a solid bloody Mary (which came with the mini burger) that costs the same.
However, being Australian I came here to watch the cricket for Boxing Day. The music was playing in the background, but they didn't play the cricket commentary. I requested the waiter to change the music to the commentary, but he told me that this was not possible.
As a pub that is essentially the cricket pub of KL, I find that this is a disrespect to the sport. I personally would prefer to listen to cricket commentary than the music that my dad listened to 20 years ago. Watching cricket without commentary is like eating nasi lemak without sambal. I spoke to some friends that came here some time ago and they had...
Read moreNice place to watch F1. They have multiple screens showing F1 race. Sadly they didnt show post race show and post race driver interviews.
Ambiance is good and you will love it if you are a cricket fan.
Food is decent. The devil chicken pizza is really nice and if you can tolerate spice you would like it as well. The crab puttu was good especially when paired with the curry they provide. The fungi mushroom pizza was alright.
The price was slightly on the medium to high side with pizza from RM35+ to RM80 and the beers were roughly close to RM40 for a pint of Guinness.
Overall decent place to watch F1 and chill...
