This outlet separates the counter for ordering noodles and drinks, I am ok with this, but today I went there at 3.30pm, after ordered my drink, I went to another counter to order their pan mee, there are 2 person infront of me, so that I queued for about 3 minutes, when it is my turn to order, the staff said close already, I was like harr? Just now the 2 person infront of me got to order but now my turn she said close, she pointed the digital clock and said now was already 3:40pm and they will not take order anymore, just now the person infront of me ordered at 3:38pm which was still before 3:40pm, so is this my fault that coz this happened?? I started to queue at 3:35pm, it is not my fault that turns out to order at 3:40pm, and your staff can't just take one last order before closing?? I really dont understand, and I backed to the drinks counter and ask the same question, I already order drinks and now no food to serve me, the staff at this counter even worse, she said next time I should order noodles first then only order my drinks next, how will I know when is your counter closing time?? So does it means the drinks counter close later than the noodles counter?? Nothing related information written in your shop. A few minutes later, a chinese fat guy come out to ask about this issue, I told him the same thing, he said the noodles counter already close, I ask him what time close, he said 3:45pm, I pointed to the digital clock and said now it is only 3:44pm, the he said the clock was broken, the actual time now was 3:52pm, he showed me his ipad and said.
Conclusion of this story is very funny, the staff at noodles counter use the shop's digital clock to determine the closing time which is "3:40pm "as she said, but she doesnt know the clock is broken, so when the person infront of my que got to order at 3:38pm, the actual time I guess is already about 3:46pm, which was already over the closing time 3:40pm, so they should not be able to order anything too, but sad to say they are the lucky one who are able to take order coz the staff doesnt know the clock was broken and working 8 minutes more for the employer.
the fat chinese guy said the closing time is "3:45pm" which is different from what the staff from noodles counter said it is closing at "3:40pm". A message to employer, next time please brief all your staff with the same information, especially the closing time, and also when the time is nearly to closing time, please alert your customer who still wants to order, otherwise there is a possible outcome that the customer only able to get drinks without food or get the food without drinks, for me is very abnormal if drinks and food are not served in a meal haha. I think just combine both counter at one place and the issue will be solved, but the fat guy said the queue will be faster by separating to 2 different counter, erm I am not sure about that, btw the sri petaling branch doing quite well and the queue doesnt have to wait very long time even though they did not sepate the counter(except the wan tan mee and nasi lemak), this is your company decision, there is no right no wrong, practice makes perfect right, but there are still space to improve I think...I am not judging anymore so anyone mentioned above dont get mad ya...
P/s: Finally I was able to get the dry pan mee after my mum stand out for me, but the taste is not good at all(very salty), I think the staff forced to cook for me so they jusy...
Read moreWarning ⚠, take breakfast here if you are not really hungry or you really want to try how patience you are.
In fact, this shop has been duplicating their lousy kitchen serving system from shop to shop! Customer orders are seem drowning in the kitchen counter, they are serving food without proper order sequence. Rows of customers can be seen complaining in front of the kitchen counter because they don't get their food and drinks. I've experienced the same in PJ and thinking that newly open Kepong branch will be better. However, they still operate the same way in every shop. If you are the "lucky" one, you'll either never get your toast or drinks. I wonder what is the point you ask all the customers to queue up to take orders yet you can't even manage to serve the food & drinks properly! There are so many kopitiam out there which are also very crowded on weekend morning yet they can take orders from customers at each table and serve with correct sequence.
Long story short, I'll never breakfast here again. The verdict on social medias about how great the food & drinks serving in Thong Kee kopitiam, I personally feel that it really not worth your time to try it! It will ruin your sunday morning.
Thong Kee - the biggest mistake is you never improve on your food serving system. You forgot about successful f&b business world is about providing good service to customers too. Unfortunately, you are practicing the worst...
Read moreIt is a coffee shop but managed in a very special system where u need to queue in front of the shop to get a table number. Then u proceed to order the food u want at your preffered stall. Some stalls and the drinks have to order through the counter where you inform your table number and make payment.
But the system is differential if you are there to take away, u can go staright to its special counter to make order, payah and wait to pick up.
Speciality: their 1+1 is notable more smooth and nice than what we get at usual coffee shop but its slightly pricier (RM5.10) but since its good, i dont mind but hope it wont increase too much in the future...
