U Yen Vegetarian Restaurant — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

The food is good, and the price is average, but the staff's attitude needs significant improvement. I went there this morning to get a takeaway mixed rice and asked one of the Chinese ladies with short hair about the bean curd Yong Tau Foo. She kindly told me that I could order it, and the staff would prepare it. Suddenly, a Chinese lady with a ponytail in black yelled at the short-haired lady, who was preparing vegetables, and then yelled at me, saying, "Whatever is there is there. No means no."

I decided to take something else and went to the counter to make my payment. I asked her if the Yong Tau Foo was RM1.80 per piece. She rudely shouted at me, "咁大隻字寫住 $2，你唔識睇呀?"

I have been here several times, mostly dining in, and I usually don’t check the price. However, I noticed the delivery app listed it as RM1.80, so I asked. I even recommended the Yong Tau Foo to an Indian couple while they were getting their food. This experience was extremely disappointing. This is a hidden gem in the OUG neighbourhood, for vegetarians. It's located along the old Road 29, where a row of single story shoplots lined the road.

Air condition and very comfortable, it has occupied 2 lots to offer more space for us customers. Huge variety of vegetarian dishes prepared in economy rice fashion. Also available are ala carte order from a long list of dishes on their menu based on rice, noodles or simply dishes only.

I get a feel that the dishes are prepared with less oil, sugar and salt, which makes it a little healthier. Price are reasonable too but also dependant on what you choose for your plate. Sometimes the Tzu Chi channel will be playing on the TV, so while eating you can zone out to the wisdom of the show.

Used to be very economical as low as Rm3.50 and good choice of mixed rice dishes :) their ala carte such as fried rice, noodles, pasta are also available at price ranging rm5-7. parking is available around the neighborhood. Offers catering services as well. But since 2019 they used weighing system for economic rice, its totally unacceptable as you'd get rm7-9 and even with tapao it's so inconvenient to fill up dishes before getting the rice.
