A Grab driver recommended Zheng Kee Chicken Rice. She praised their Roast Pork, Char Siew, Kampung Poached Chicken and special soups are good but expensive. She was right. We ordered for 2 people: Roast Pork and Char Siew (requested 50% lean 50% fat) - $20 Kampung Poached Chicken(requested whole Chicken Leg) - $30 Bean Sprouts - $6.50 Pork Stomach Soup in Claypot - $15 Special Chicken Rice with Pork Lard and 1/2 Salted Egg - $10 2 Chinese Tea Ice - $1
Roast Pork is delicious; crispy skin with ideal ratio of lean meat and fat. Like the crispy charred bits of the Char Siew. Char Siew is tender, not too lean and moist. The Poached Kampung Chicken is a masterpiece. Silky skin, moist deboned tender Chicken. The Bean Sprouts were average. The Pork Stomach was tasty. Not the usual strong peppery soup base. Generous amount of Pork Stomach. The Special Pork Lard Chicken Rice with 1/2 Salted Egg was nothing to shout about. They could improve on the taste of their Rice. Not worth the $10. The Cucumber Pineapple Pickles was nice and refreshing.
Overall, it was an enjoyable meal. We especially liked the Roast Pork, Char Siew and Poached Kampung Chicken, we went again the next day. Didn’t mind paying more. Quality...
Read more😱Reasonable priced. We recently tucked into their White Chicken Rice with a side of those zingy Sour Vegetables and some seriously tempting Roasted Pork Char Siew and Siew yok. And you know what? It hit the spot!
The chicken was nice and tender, just how it should be. And that rice? Cooked perfectly, soaking up all those lovely chicken-y flavors. The sour vegetables gave a nice little punch that cut through the richness – a real palate cleanser.
Now, let's talk about that Char Siew. The roasted pork was sweet and savory, with that beautiful glaze that makes your mouth water. It was a great addition to the meal. And Siew Yok, please don’t miss out if you’re pork belly person.
You also get some fresh cucumber and crunchy bak choy on the side, which is always a welcome touch.
And the soup? Oh man, it was piping hot and so comforting. Perfect for washing everything down. Seriously loved that warm bowl of goodness.
Overall, Zheng Kee Chicken Rice is a solid choice if you're craving some good, honest chicken rice. Everything tasted great, and that hot soup was a real winner. Definitely worth checking out! Will be back to check out...

My first meal after coming back to Malaysia was at Zheng Kee, a famous chicken rice place in Taman Kok Doh, somewhere between Segambut & Jinjang Selatan.
A very popular restaurant among the locals and neighbouring areas, they also attract die hard chicken rice fans from further places. When I first visited them, they were selling chicken rice from a stretch of makeshift hawker stalls but they have since moved into the shoplot at the same spot.
◾Pork Lard Rice complete with half salted egg had this fragrance derived from pork oil, but I wished that the lard was crispier. A sinful alternative (and more expensive too!) from the usual chicken rice. ◾Siew yuk + char siew - the former won me over with its crispy and crunchy skin; but the latter was normal without much wow factor. ◾poached chicken + liver - gotta love the glistening skin and juicy tender chicken flesh, while I loved this spare part of the chicken. ◾Steamed soup - do ask for what's available.. opted for fish maw soup this time.
Quality comes at a price and the price here ain't cheap by...
