This is comfort food at its best. The curry fish head is the highlight - the fish is fresh and sauce was piquant which is how I love my fish curry. The humble chicken curry served is unashamedly Chinese (which is devoid of the spices and herbs you find in Indian and Malay curries; just the best blend of curry powder and lemak). Fried towgay was fried with enough wok Hei and had hints of salted fish throughout. Braised pork was perfectly done - tender meat in a light sauce. I didn't care much about the pig's trotters. Love the food here. I hope tourists don't overwhelm this place!

Having lunch here introduced by colleague who used to live nearby. Definitely not the tourist place for Melaka chicken rice ball. Chicken are tender and smooth. I like the soy sauce used give it nice sweet savoury taste. The rice wise are ok. Braised pork leg are good. Not too heavy on the salty flavour. Meat are quite tender. Asam fish are average. Perhaps the taste are bit too mild for me. Not enough sourness nor spiciness. Overall food are good. Price are reasonable too. Will I repeat? Yes for the chicken and rice but place a bit far from the central.

Delicious food with friendly service! As claimed by their friendly lady boss, all dishes are signature dishes! We were recommended to get - assam fish head (please opt for the fish head, really silky and sweet) - 滷肉 (the 滷汁 is very flavourful, yet balanced. 肉/豆干/雞蛋都鹵到很入味) - fried tauge with salted fish (alot of wokhei, tauge still got good crunch... tastes like the tauge in a good char kuey teow) Cuz of how good the recommended dishes were. We added on a chicken rice. Chicken is chicken breast but oh my it is SILKY! 10/10 would visit again.

The signature dishes are quite special, although could be more delicately prepared. They use big chicken with 2kg size so apparently it’s supposed to be tastier although I personally find it quite fat and greasy. Salted fish taugeh is quite interesting although there is some burnt taste. Asam fish is with thick soup and spicy, not the usual sour taste so would suit some but not all or usual ones. Hainam pork is most special to me as it’s with salted fish, strengthened with ginger in dark sauce. Overall good for locals and some who look for something different but not necessarily for those who look for...
