This is my second time booking here. First time here with my wife was terrific. The hotel is nice and near to many facilities. Also the day-shift receptionist was very friendly and professional. I’m happy during my first stay.
However, today (5th July 2025) is our second time here and we’re quite shocked when we encountered not one but 2-3 centipedes (Lipan) in our toilet. I did informed to the night-shift receptionist if we could change room but it was fully booked. Totally understandable. There’s only left with few single bed rooms. They offered us 2 separate rooms for me and my wife but we refused and when we asked if we could only go for 1 single bed room and hopefully to get a partial refund but they said cannot refund even if we change to 1 single bed room. This is totally unacceptable and no professionalism here at all. There’s no solution to the pest issue immediately. We have to personally asked them if they have pest spray and could get rid the pest himself. Luckily & glad he did. Issue is solved but the room smells with pest spray. We tried to bear with after spray smells and hopefully we don’t encounter anymore centipede…
Few things to highlight here: Pest issue/Toilet is unclean and unsafe (due to few Lipan was noticed crawling around the toilet’s floor)
Lack professionalism - no intention to investigate/solve the pest issue immediately (we have to suggest/ask the receptionist if they have pest spray and checked for themselves)

Read moreI’m really disappointed with how my booking was handled. I had a confirmed reservation through Booking.com. There was no mention anywhere in the policy that my booking would be canceled if I checked in late. But when I arrived, I was told my room had been given away—without any call, email, or notification.
What’s even more frustrating is that when I asked the receptionist to contact the manager, he refused, saying the manager was “not free” to take a call. Seriously? A problem has already happened, and the manager can’t even bother to show up or make a simple phone call to resolve it? What’s the point of having a manager if they’re unavailable when an issue arises? A manager’s job is to handle problems, not disappear when guests need assistance. And why was the receptionist refusing to even try? How does that make sense?

Read moreLocated less than 4km (north) from Jonker this Maple Botique Hotel provides an easy accessed location, with adequate front of hotel parking, to stay if exploring Malaka and surrounds by car.||Overall very clean with easy check-in front desk immediate located on entry.||Rooms can feel claustrophobic with their windowless design each side of a long corridor. Even with the door open, rooms that are not located at the top of the corridor, have no natural light penetrative. They do, however provide a desk with seat, small area for hanging clothes and bench for kettle. Beds are comfortable.||The compact 7ft x 5ft shower/washroom/toilet room does mean that showering will result in a wet toilet seat and surrounds.||With good wifi and other facilities, this would be ideal for solo / backpacker travellers (preferably travelling by car).
