We visited Taibak Corner 米台霸冰店 on 24 June 2025 and tried a variety of desserts.
The cendol had a unique flavor, reminding me of an Indian-style cendol with a slightly salty taste. I personally enjoyed it. The second dessert was mitaibak, a lou shi fan-style dessert served with ice. It was mildly sweet and refreshing, making it a good choice for a hot sunny evening, though it wasn’t my personal favorite. The hot dessert, red bean soup with sweet potatoes (番薯), was the sweetest among all the desserts we tried.
We also ordered pisang goreng, which we found to be quite ordinary. The fried batter was average, and the banana turned soft after frying.

It’s a tea time / dessert place. They specialize in icey desserts like taibak, ais kacang and other shaved ice variations.
We tried 3 types (taibak, ice ball and anggur bandung ice) and only the taibak was worth the try. Taibak was pretty yummy.
Ice ball and anggur Bandung ice are a scam. There’s only some red beans in the middle of the ice ball while the anggur bandung had zero ingredients, literally only purple ice. I think if you wanna try anything here, just stick to the basics.

Read moreI recently visited Taibak Corner to try their Taibak and ice kacang, but I was pretty disappointed with the Taibak. It didn’t have the authentic Peranakan taste I was expecting, which was a letdown, especially since I was hoping for something more traditional. The flavor and texture just didn’t hit the mark compared to the real thing.
