This coffee shop is located in the Bachang area of Melaka.

This is a coffee shop serves drinks and nasi lemak only.

The nasi lemak stall was previously selling in front of the Capitol Cinema.

The restaurant has reopened fully with strict SOPs. The seating capacity is smaller now.

There is a wide variety of dishes to go with the nasi lemak. The fried chicken, curry chicken, sambal squid and sambal cockles are popular. The dishes taste nice.

The drinks are the usual coffee shop drinks.

Prices are reasonable. Cash and e-wallet are accepted here.

Cleanliness is acceptable.

Service is fast.

Parkings are roadside parkings. During peak hours, may have some difficulty in finding parking space

Handicapped patrons can patronize this shop.

23-07-2025 : Still popular and a good place to enjoy...

The best nasi lemak in town. It started off as a push-cart business in the 60's operating outside the former Capitol Cinema (hence its name) along Jalan Bendahara (formerly known as Wolferston Road). It now operates from a clean shop lot along Jalan Bachang, about 200 metres from the Gajah Berang-Jalan Bachang junction. The nasi lemak smells fragrant because of its 'santan' (coconut milk). Besides, the traditional kangkong (water spinach), cucumber, groundnuts and a hardboiled egg, you can also top up the nasi lemak with chicken rendng, fried chicken, cuttlefish, and other appetising dishes. Try it. You'll probably regret why you didn't...

A typical Chinese styled of cooking. This nasi lemak stall in a kopitiam is very popular among locals. Cheap eat. There have large varieties of side dishes such as fried chicken, chilli sotong and shellfish, kangkung..I tried the sotong and shellfish, and the price is only RM 5. I like the chilli sambal, which has some onion flavour. The rice is also very nice and fragrance, cooked with santan, but a bit hard. I think the rice is the only one non-chinese style, as usually the rice would be cooked with pandan leaf and ginger. Overall, I think the nasi lemak here is OK, not to say...

Traditional Malacca style nasi lemak, recipe originated by a muslim family, operated from a push cart kiosk in 1970s near Capitol Cinema. It was passed down to a Chinese family who happened to be soy bean store next to the nasi lemak. They became good friends and the recipe continued the original taste. Nasi lemak is fragrant and it is served steaming hot. The sambal is gorgeous, paired with the kangkung and fried chicken. There are more than 10 different dishes to pick from. There is always a line but crews work fast and friendly. We love this place.

It's probably one of the best Chinese Nasi Lemak I've had in years. Capitol Nasi Lemak comes with a 40+ year history when the father started selling by the old cinema with the same name. The son took over 30 years ago and has been consistent with the dad's recipe. Sambal, ayam kunyit curry, and fried fish fillet are still the same from those days. The prices are reasonable and flavours are done perfectly. Parking by the road is difficulty but you can go around and park at the housing area and walk here. Food finishes by around 1.00pm.
