Yesterday my friend and I decided to give this place a try - after working for 5 years in Seremban and listening to good reviews - I guess we had our hopes tad bit too high and went back somewhat hampered
Credits are given mainly to good customer service - Warm and prompt. Super fast service despite almost full-house when we were there
Scanning through the menu, my guess is the kitchen has a fusion take on Italian cuisine which if not done correctly and well-thought it can be a major flunk - and that's the case here
I had spaghetti pesto with grilled chicken. The spirit of pesto is in the abundance of garlic and herbs with strong profile - usually basil - and the oil was to bind everything together and barely wet the pasta. What I had was greasy grilled chicken - very fatty part (perhaps squashed thigh part) - so it's greasy on greasy. On a pile of greasy spaghetti literally soaked in a pool of oil with green-coloured substance which lacked any distinct flavour. I am not one who wastes food so I finished it - with much discomfort I decided not to proceed with dessert
My friend had spaghetti aglio e olio with seafood. Again, a total miss when I could barely see garlic and chilli flakes. And the seafood got killed more than once I guess. Extremely overcooked to the point that the flesh of the shrimp properly detached from its shell and the meat of its mussels ran away and ditched their shell (pardon the pun)
I do understand where the good reviews came from - perhaps those preferring authentic Malay cuisine flavours would love these but the ones anticipating some adventure and diversity would be disappointed
Still, at least the pasta was al dente. My review is not to bash the kitchen down to pulp but because I genuinely think there is room for improvement because dear oh dear, the cafe is super cute and good customer service. All that's left is a good kitchen...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here yesterday around 6.40pm.. Inside the cafe was not so busy.. Around a quarter tables were occupied, and mostly has gotten their food served. We ordered one drink, one cromboloni, and fries for our child.. waited for almost half an hour for the drink, only after i asked the staff whats taking so long. And the fries came 5-10 minutes after. To my surprise, the fries was served very slightly warm, as if it was already fried and left there for quite some times, or they already fried in a batch beforehand and just preheat them. If it was true, should it be served to us way earlier before? And the cromboloni,.. was never served. Asked the staff few times, said sheāll checked and never came to back to us. So we decided to cancel the order as our baby cant tolerate to sit longer. My husband went to pay at the counter and mentioned to cancel the cromboloni order, and the staff went just okay. Not a single apology from them.. seriously this is so disappointing. We have been supporting urban affairs since almost two years but the service lately has been very disappointing. Please donāt treat your customer like this. This is not the first time happening to us since urban affairs renovated/reopened. There were other upsetting experience also but this one truly making me feels irritated. Eventhough you were busy with events/catering or even delivery orders but please please do not neglect your physical customer. At least treat them some respect or gives apology if needed, knowing the service might take some time.. dont just leave your customer waiting for more than half an hour without even a single updates⦠or at least serve the drink first that can make us happy too. Nevertheless we still want to support you so please please please...
Read moreTheir service excellent! If your food is not cooked or there is something wrong, don't be shy to give your feedback as they take every feedback very seriously. I ordered Buttermilk Chicken with Rice and my rice was not cooked perfectly and I inform them, they took my food and said sorry and added that they will cook it properly.I was expecting the rice I ate will come back as it is because I ate half of it, but instead they gave me dish as whole, I mean, full plate of rice and full bowl of buttermilk chicken! I asked why and they said it is a token for giving a feedback and they will not charge extra for it! I was impressed by how they take their feedback and they would always ask "Is your meal okay today?" ,guys if your meal is not okay, just tell them, they won't get mad at you, they will happily receive your feedback and improve. This is one of my favourite places to eat ⤠Be sure you guys come here as well! Highly...
