I came, I saw nasi dagang, and I ate it.

The coffee is super awesome. Get Kemaman black coffee at this kopitiam if you want to feel alive. I came here for breakfast so nothing much I could say about their dishes other than breakfast, but looking at the menu they say they have puyuh goreng so I guess I'll come back later for lunch. I had nasi dagang (wrapped in banana leaf and easily gets mistaken as tapai like the one in Selangor), Honey Nut Delight (as sexy as it sounds, it is actually peanut-buttered French toast with honey and butter dip at the side) and of course... black Kemaman coffee.

I like the fact that the kopitiam hire local staff since you can clearly hear their accent and they know their food (thank you to the one who pointed out that the nasi dagang was not tapai to me, if not I will have missed out tasting it). Local food needs local people. Plus, the staff are efficient despite being understaffed.

The kopitiam has nice open atmosphere. No loud trashy music like other hipster cafes. Just nice family-friendly ambience, also nice for travelers like me. I don't care about the price, people say it's expensive but I think it's worth it - you don't just pay for the food, you also pay for the environment and service.

I just hope that the management can get a card payment machine soon since many people especially solo travelers nowadays go...

To be honest, this use to be my favorite hang out place. I used to eat in here or stop by every other day just for a cup of coffee.

They used to employ this one viatnamese guy & as time passes, that guy was promoted to supervisor post or sort of.

But now, I seldom stop by this place. Actually, I stop going there regularly right after their 3rd or 4th price increase.

Yup, they do increase their prices a few times ...

...but still, this place is a popular join for "senior citizen". I don't know why but thats the impression I get whenever I stop by there every now & then. Maybe its the purchasing power.

Overall, this place doesn't change much. I can see the same owner running it. The choice of food & beverages were almost unhanged. Good to see that their coffee still maintain its quality.

But bare in mind, there are a few Kemaman Kopitiam around Kuantan town & one of the nearest is just a few hundreds meters away. Someone buys me "salted egg peria" there & it was superb ...

...seriously.

So, 3 stars for this place for its good location, food...

Extremely overpriced for the quality of food served. The bill reached rm102 just for 4 pax. Pattaya fried rice is rm19? Ordered cantonese yee mee and the broth is not thick and flavourless. I personally don't mind the stupidly steep price but I expect to be served with food fitting the price. They employ foreign labour but never bothered to check if they can speak bahasa or even english, had trouble communicating with the waiter. I liked the kopitiam setting and design but even if you put a gun to my head I would NEVER recommend this place. Still stunned about the fact that I had paid rm100 for the quality of food that you'd easily find in a normal warung or restaurant. Even normal restaurants serve better food than this. The coffee is good I guess. Honestly if you're thinking of going here, don't. Save your money and go somewhere else. I only put a star because Google won't allow me...

We had dinner on a week night. There was not a lot of people around early in the evening, but the place got filled up as the night got later. It became very noisy which is normal for a kopitiam where you just relax and chat with friends. The night air was cool so we had no trouble with no air conditioning. We had the black coffee which was good, and fried kuey teow, fried meehoon with Cantonese kuey teow. The food was well done, the bean sprouts was especially fresh and crispy, and the protein in the noodles was in abundance. Everything tastes good too. And yes, the issue is the pricing. You can easily spend more than RM20 for both food and drinks. Otherwise this is just like any other chain kopitiam. You just go there for the local kopi and to chit-chat.
