Tried this place for the first time after seeing a photo of the gyudon (stir-fried beef with rice) & I was really delighted to have discovered the taste of gyudon that I've missed for more than 5-6 years now, when Koi Zen Jap restaurant left the scene... The gyudon here was cooked by that same chef! When the dish arrived, that same fragrance, look & taste just brought back memories & I was right about the chef - previously from Koi Zen 😊 the only difference this time is a lack of green onions, but the overall taste was still that familiar, favourite taste. The sashimi salmon belly was also fresh & delicious. We found the unagi don standard but we didn't like the sweet, fruity mayo on the salad, while the simple miso soup was slightly on the sweeter side as well. The restaurant had a basic deco & sort of izakaya ambiance though the selection of music played was a bit mismatched with the theme of the restaurant. Ventilation in the restaurant was also not really good, so we walked out with clothes lingering of the smell of "fried oil". Overall, I will still return for the gyudon & maybe the sashimi too.

Our family had early dinner at this new restaurant today. Before coming , we are full of excitement and hoping to taste the best Japanese food in town . First disappointment- slow service in term of food serving since we were the second customer at the restaurant that time. 2nd disappointment- everything starts from their miso soup , Japanese rice , Kimchi udon and salmon Don all filled with “added sugar “ in respective food. Imagine, every dish they served with added “sugar “! I won’t patronage again in the future as I don’t want to expose myself to high “sugar” diet at all. 3rd disappointment- poor in store ventilation. Imagine you are having your dinner in their “ kitchen”! Your clothes full of cooking “essence “ when out from the restaurant.😅

Sashimi especially the salmon, came out quite fresh even though on the pricier side. pleasant environment, edamame hot enough. Price acceptable if take set lunch also comes with some sushi. Good recommendation. Come in weekend easy to find parking.

The food was disappointing, lacking both in taste and presentation. The service was slow and inattentive, with no effort to accommodate customers. Instead of serving sushi on small plates, everything was lumped together on one big plate, making it difficult to enjoy. To top it off, the tea tasted like drainage water. Overall, a regrettable...
