Restoran Kampung — Restaurant in Pahang

Visited Restaurant Kampung recently and found the experience quite underwhelming. The location is rather remote and not the most accessible, but we were open to giving it a try based on the reviews. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. The kampung chicken was extremely tough and difficult to enjoy. As for the fish, although it was advertised as wild-caught, it seemed more like regular farmed fish — certainly not what was promised.

One of the main letdowns was the pricing. Among nearby restaurants, this one stands out as one of the most expensive, yet the environment and food quality don’t justify the cost.

It’s also worth noting that they only accept cash. In today’s cashless world, the lack of card or e-wallet options is inconvenient and might leave a negative impression.

Everything fresh from the farm to tables. Food is delicious, but presentation is not winning your appetite, yet the tasty food or dishes will easily prompt you to request for a 2nd helping. The place is a bit hidden from the main road, simple village setting not well decorated, not attractive at all. The owner only want you to concentrate merely on the dishes they serve. The owner is very friendly and yku will feel homely with his present. Hygiene issue. Ordered 1 ice water and when ordered another, they said no more ice. Tilapia fish ordered but charged came to 1.4kg. We didn't feel it was that big. Ordered small eggplant but they refused to serve small portion and they will only serve based headcount. Only 2 pax out if our 5 adult and 2 kids eat this. We were forced to order medium, take it or leave it kind of attitude. Ordered several other dishes like lala, all no stock. Told bill rm140 for 1 tilapia, 1 egg plant, 1vege, 1 sweetsour pork, onion egg. Totally not worth it. Service and hygiene is poor. Definitely...
