Visited Restaurant Kampung recently and found the experience quite underwhelming. The location is rather remote and not the most accessible, but we were open to giving it a try based on the reviews. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. The kampung chicken was extremely tough and difficult to enjoy. As for the fish, although it was advertised as wild-caught, it seemed more like regular farmed fish — certainly not what was promised.
One of the main letdowns was the pricing. Among nearby restaurants, this one stands out as one of the most expensive, yet the environment and food quality don’t justify the cost.
It’s also worth noting that they only accept cash. In today’s cashless world, the lack of card or e-wallet options is inconvenient and might leave a negative impression.
