RESTORAN KKS is actually my latest discovery of countless restaurants in Bukit Tinggi Bentong area, a popular place for tourists to stop by for a quick lunch or dinner on their way to or from KL, or even those stopping by after a trip up Getting Highlands. It was actually mentioned by a friend and I decided to stop by for dinner one day when everyone in thels car was crying hungry.
As I drove in, I never thought such place exist. The restaurant is overlooking a pond, and there's actually a hut-like structures. just next to the pond where you can dine and enjoy the sound of the water flowing. Poultries were seen roaming freely in the compound too.
I spoke to the lady boss who will take your order.. they have 3 top claypot dishes here - namely fish, prawn and chicken. Yours truly had tried both prawn and chicken but not the fish.
◾claypot fresh water prawn with tong fun - anything soupy and with herbs will definitely get the thumb up with the fussy minister. The sweetness from the prawn and it's roe had diluted into the already flavourful soup.. too much soup and you'll risk headache because the presence of dong guai made the soup heaty - believe me, I kena and had a hard time driving after that. ◾Claypot chicken - the 3-normally-couldn't-agree kids declares that this was probably one of the best chicken dish they ever had. The sauce was very addictive with the sweetness from the caramelised onions. The aroma alone will make you salivate as the claypot was served piping hot releasing it's aroma. Even the adults love it. ◾Sweet & sour pork - boy's favourite ◾Stir fried baby watercress - so good, fresh and crunchy that I ordered a second helping ◾Stir fried "tin chat" leaves
I simply love the dining environment here coupled with awesome dishes.
Note: The restaurant is just slightly further up from 126. You'd miss it if you didn't pay...
Read moreThanks to my little big brother, who not only recommended this hidden gem but also played chauffeur for the day. Meanwhile, the birthday boy had the toughest job of all—handling everything from start to finish. (We should probably owe him another meal!) . Now, let’s talk about the food. . The sweet potato leaves come first. A simple, familiar comfort. Nothing fancy, nothing unexpected, just a solid, reliable side dish to balance out the meal. . The claypot prawns with soo hoon arrived then, the steam curling up in delicate swirls, carrying the scent of rich, savory broth. We soaked the glass noodles to that thick, umami-packed gravy, making stopping at just one bite impossible. We wiped the pot clean, leaving nothing but the memory of its warmth. . Last came the star of the meal—the steamed big catfish. Fresh, tender, and cooked just right, each bite melted effortlessly, leaving behind the natural sweetness of the fish. It was the kind of dish that didn’t need much conversation—just appreciative silence as we savored every morsel. . Between bites, we barely spoke. Not because there was nothing to say, but because the food commanded our full attention. Occasionally, we’d take a break, stretching our legs, wandering outside to take in the scenic surroundings, then returning to our seats to continue our quiet feast. . Was it worth it? Absolutely. The price was fair, the flavors were satisfying, and the experience? One to remember. . Would we return? Maybe—there’s still a whole world of eateries waiting to be explored. . Would I recommend it? Without...
Read moreIf you love to eat river fish/ fresh water fish especially tapah fish (my favorite fresh water fish of all!), this is the place to visit. Very fresh (the stickiness in your mouth), succulent Tapah fish claypot that i tried, guess the other cooking style would be nice too. The veggie is also on point, well cooked and fresh, and should be organic directly from their farm. Cant really see this restaurant from the main road, so follow your navigations as it is near the main road and an off road in between some stalls will lead to this restaurant.
Nice ambience to dine in too especially seating in between the ponds, however if seat near the main counter may feel the cooking smoke. Well decorated wooden village style open air restaurant surrounded with trees.
Highly recommended for the Tapah Fish!! Even though limited dishes choice but definitely will satisfy your tummy.
Remark: Havent try other dish though. Fresh water prawn dish looks bit watery from others sharing, aint sure is nice but i think should be fresh. Chicken dish looks tempting and good definitely will be my...
