NOT recommended. Feel so commercialize. During my 1st time visit with my family was supposed to be exciting with the environment & heritage feeling but very dissatisfied & disappointed. We brought our young children 6 years old & was sitting quietly watching IPad meanwhile having our meals. We were quietly dining & suddenly the waitress came to the 1st floor complaint us that we were very noisy. We were surprised & not responded them with a mixed feeling. Whereas others tables was talking & laughing loudly. Is it bcos we brought a young children here & the only children at 1st floor? Staff should observe before complaining us! Then followed my 2nd time experienced indeed a very BAD & insulted experienced & shall NOT coming anymore. We were asking for tissue paper for twice. Staff forgotten although not many customers. As such, hubby when to downstairs counter to request. To our surprised, they give us the brown roll paper (looks like toilet paper exactly). So my hubby ask if can provide the white tissue paper which we saw other tables have. Guess what! The staff mentioned that you are not having main dishes we shall not give you the white tissue paper but only the roll toilet paper. Infacts, we ordered drinks, dessert & many more much costly than the main dishes. Then my hubby told the staff we need to wipe out mouth. Another surprised they responded ohh.. the roll paper not meant for wiping mouth instead wipe hand & table 😰. And still give us the brown roll paper & responded that this roll paper is much more expensive than the white tissue. We are out of words 😱!! Very arrogant said. I think she is the lady bos here. We are not intended to make any argument, my hubby just left the counter & it's really sound funny. It's just a small request of tissue paper & doesn't cost them much. Further more we are not asking a lots of tissue paper. Only 2 pcs & see how they responded. The restaurant owner have to seriously look into this matter & have to learn how important is the customers service. Won't think this kinda attitude can sustain the...
Read moreTook my mom come here during Weekend. Had to order the food at the front counter before we have a seat, after that the waitress told me that my seat is long table seat in upper floor (nobody bring us to go+ no numbering given). After I go to upper floor, I saw one blank long table and I thought it's my seat coz other tables was occupied. After 5 minutes, the waitress bring another group of customer come to me and I was been told it's not my seat, I should share the long table with other people. In fact, they should let me know I have to share table with others, prior to let me make any food ordering. And it shouldn't have no numbering on the table if u wanted to let customer have a seat by themselves. it's really no organized.
After I moved to the long table share with others, the table was not clean, and the waitress just put my coffee on the table without any cleaning action until I ask him to clean it. When he clean the table, he just pick up the bits and pieces and he's not carefully knock my cup and the coffee spilled over the coffee plate.
Less food options and portion is small. Two pc Kaya black bread cut into three portions spend RM 5++. Herbal Mi Shua is undercooked.
Should update the menu with showing a good food photo. If u prefer handwriting Menu is fine, but please make sure the word and drawing is matching properly and neat enough.
Location is near to downtown area, have ample private parking and also good view...mode in vintage cafe give publicity stunt but please take some time to focus on the service attitude, food quality and also proper seat organization. it's a key to earn customer...
Read moreHad a small humble annual gathering with friends from all over Malaysia at Bukit Mertajam, we selected here because of local recommendation. Overall, our gathering was treated unwelcoming by two unfriendly waitresses.
The barista staffs were friendly, but there were two lady waitresses were not. While it is normal just have chit chat and I am pretty sure we did mind on the volume to not disturb the other customers.
While the cafe was still barely half occupied, as soon as our food were finished, one of the waitress suddenly came to pick up our plates and cups (hinting that we should go). We did not as our drinks were not finished yet. Suddenly another waitress came directly to tell us that we were talking too long and too loud and it was lunch time (asking us that we should take a move now).
Not sure if we came to a cafe or a library. Even librarians would not chase us out for being sitting for too long. The food were served late (about 30 mins) and we hardly sit for more than an hour. Disappointed about the maltreatment and we really felt unwelcomed (especially some friends landed to Penang for the very first time).
Food price was at the typical price range, food was instagrammable, but tasted of mediocre standards.
Environment wise, lighting and design were good, light background music.
Paid private carpark area beside the store (RM 3 per entry). Otherwise no free...
